I have had the wrong item sent to me by Amazon UK. I phoned and complained, and was given a freepost address to return the item. I got a refund for the item I had originally ordered. Since Amazon were then out of stock of that item, I bought it elsewhere.
Amazon has been real slow as of late, something taking up to a week to ship items listed as “ships in 24 hours”- it might be to punish those using free shipping but it sucks. I had to cancel one order already as I got sick of waiting for them to ship 2 items that were in stock.
They are on probabtion at this point, but a few more screw ups and out they go.
The one that really pisses me of is when you order three CDs, chooses the free delivery option, then, at some (much) later date Amzon decide one CD is no longer availabe and cancel it from the order (fair enough - shit happens). Within a millisecond the order goes to ‘Dispatching soon’ (a big fucking lie if ever I heared one) plus they add on shipping 'cos the order total is now below the £25 threshold and there aint nothing you can do about it 'cos ‘Dispatching soon’ is like some holy state ordained by God to be inviolate.
I’m no fan of Amazon, but in these circumstances I don’t believe a polite and direct phone call wouldn’t work it all out.
“I ordered on the understanding of FREE delivery, it’s your** bad.”
“Agreed, Sir, we will credit your account.”
That sort of thing…
I believe the “magic roundabout” is located there. apparently built on an ancient Indian burial ground also.
