Amazon, what did you do to my wish list?

Almost had a heart attack when I went to Amazon.com, clicked on “Wish List” and was told it was empty. Managed to find my list by searching for my name. But now it seems that I no longer have the option to modify the list, other than by adding stuff. I can’t delete items, and I can’t change the priority setting. The only way stuff will disappear from the list is if I order it directly from Amazon.

But the thing is, a lot of stuff on the list will be ordered through Amazon Marketplace. And when I do that, I have to remove the listing manually. Plus, the reason I was looking at the list just now was to remove an item (I’d found a copy in a used bookstore, so no longer needed to order it). I don’t want the list to be permanently cluttered with stuff I already have or no longer want, but it seems I have no choice. :dubious:

I know this is not a huge problem in the grand scheme, but if anyone knows how this new setup works, and can tell me how to make modifications, I’d vastly appreciate it. (I’ve explored all the “help” options, to no avail, so far.)

Are you logged in to Amazon under the correct username/password? From the symptoms you describe, it sounds like you’re either not logged in at all, or logged in under another username.

Even if you don’t think that’s the case, log out and log in again. That may fix the problem.

No. I was logged in; I knew I was because the page kept welcoming me. I logged out and logged in again; nothing’s changed.

Well, that sucks.

I just checked my wish list; all is good.

Maybe try clearing out your cookies and browser history?

I once had my wish list unexpectedly emptied. It had about eight items in it, and one day I went there and it was just blank. I emailed them to ask about it, and they said “Them’s the breaks, dude. And I can’t promise it won’t happen again.” (paraphrased)

Their database is not rock solid, I guess.

Oh, that sucks, GuanoLad!

Meanwhile, I’m just going to create a new list. I can still see the old list, so I’m just going to reestablish every item on the new list.

(The old list is five pages long, so you can see why I got agitated. I monitor the Marketplace prices, waiting for items I want to go down to a reasonable price, and then pounce.)
