American Horror Story: Asylum

It seems that there were repercussions for the cardinal. It was clearly stated by Lana that bodies were found in the forest. The gun went off, it was just off stage.

Wait why are people questioning Lana being in Briarcliff?

That doesn’t count. You can’t just say, “oh, man, it was really something when that gun went off” inserted at the end.

A weak answer is that somebody summoned the angel of death (by writing its name in ancient Aramaic. Not modern Aramaic, mind you, *ancient *Aramaic). Sister-Hawtie/Lucifer-himself was pissed and dismayed when she learned about it. Maybe that’s why.

The scene at the end between Lana and Sister Jude. Why show it again, it was the same scene from the first episode. Only in the first episode it shows Lana trying to sneak back in.

My take was that Lana wrote the book about Briarcliff and to sensationalize it wrote it as if she had been a patient there but by the time the book came out any credible witnesses had died. She knew or found out enough information on the creepy doctor for her book to connect him to the Cardinal so when she went after him for that story he know his time was up.

As for Thredson raping Lana… resulting in Bloodyface… I haven’t worked that one out.

That is my take and reason for questioning Lana being at Briarcliff… I’m waiting for someone to give me a better explanation, in fact hoping for one.

Oh, Oh! As for the Angel of Death taking out the demon… innocent nun possessed by demon managed to hang on to enough of herself to hang on to demon and want release. Angel of Death kisses innocent nun possessing demon, one is saved the other returned to whence it came.

I think everything happened pretty much as depicted. The callback to the first episode at the very end was so they could include the line of dialogue about how when you look in the face of evil, the face of evil also looks into you (I don’t remember that part being shown in Episode 1 – especially, with the creepy close-up of Jessica Lange staring directly into the camera – i.e., into us).

It’s almost like they just wanted to create a provocative television series that was so weird and shocking and gory that more people would watch and that would increase the ratings and then they could charge more for advertising and then everyone involved would make more money. I know that’s a long shot, but it’s possible.

Very disappointing whimper of an ending, particularly the whole alien subplot. Were they aliens? Angels? Highly advanced artificial intelligences? Oh who cares, they just really liked Kit, so they took him with them wherever they go when they aren’t stealing his womenfolk and putting his alienbabies in their bellies.

So… it’s a profit game.

My bad… she was a prisoner not a guard. Don’t I recall scenes without Jude in which the Angel of Death appeared to others ?

Another question … during the interview Lana admitted that she made up finding Jude in the asylum. Then they showed a scene of the two of them that looked like it was part of the documentary. Are we meant to think that the scene was some how contrived… or was it a flashback scene of something that never happened in the first place?
