A…a waste of time?

That was the one who was doing it for her dead friend, I think.
By the way, I just found out (assuming wikipedia isn’t lying) that “General” Larry Platt (of “Pants on the Ground” fame) is a civil rights activist who was actually notable enough to be honored with an official “Larry Platt Day” by the state of Georgia back in 2001. My mind is somewhat blown.
I started watching this show because I fell in love with Taylor Hicks from flipping channels through the hotel TV in Mexico and landing on his audition.
Every other year, it takes until Hollywood Week before I really find someone to get behind.
Man, I miss Doogie and Katy Perry.
Kara: But she has such a wonderful story!
Katy: We’re not here to judge life stories.
Larry Pratt is a civil rights activist with a storied past, and I suspect that’s why he was allowed to “audition” even though it was obvious he was too old. It was out of respect, and moment of rare classiness on AI’s part.
The funny thing is that I think his message might have really hit its target. Everybody now agrees that people with their pants on the ground look like fools, especially when they’ve got the gold in their mouth and their caps turned sideways. By successfully getting the country to see that style as laughable, and making those people objects of ridicule, he my have succeeded in taking the “coolness” out of it, and officially made it lame.
I noticed that too. I said to my husband, “Did your mom make you put on a fancy dress and be nice to the gentlemen?” So mean! When did I get so mean?
