Thoughts so far:
Anthony Federov (aka "Son of Clay) is likable and can really sing.
Carrie whatsehername: Hot and can sing.
Looks like someone’s going to pull a Verna.

The best thing to happen to the mom who lost 40 pounds was that she didn’t go through. Even though I think she has a great voice, she just doesn’t seem stable enough.

I’m really rooting for Anthony Federov now. I will not call him Little Clay, Son of Clay or Clay Jr.
I agree that’s the oldest 16 year old I’ve ever seen in my life.
I heard a lot of good singers tonight. This looks like it might be a challenge to pare down.
I liked that they had guys with long hair. Its not out of style! I was surprised by the one who got through but decided to leave.

I guess I’m in the minority but I don’t like clay jr. One clay is enough (and I say that as a fan).
I was sad to see the one girl go home, I was really digging her singing. I’m moving to the UK next monday so I will miss the rest of the season. Between this and Family Guy returning I almost cancelled my trip*.

nah she didn’t make it. She mucked up partway through.
She didn’t do well. Her style was still very “operatic” when she tried to do pop and it seemed kind of awkward and stilted.
I do not understand the Bree love. She was terrible during the original audition (I thought she was a set up or a joke) and she was terrible in Hollywood.
I’ll ask about the tiny girl-boy with the helium voice one more time. I saw a brief flash of her during a montage but I didn’t see if she got through or not.
For some reason I thought that the AI contestants had to be amateurs. I saw Constantine Maroulis (right) in RENT this summer, in addition to which he has his own band (Pray for the Soul of Betty) that tours. He’s got a lot more experience than the rest; I wonder if he auditioned with One Song: Glory or anything from the play.
I can’t wait til tomorrow to see them perform in groups of 3. I’m also starting to like Federov, he grows on you!
I liked the voice on the second of the three rockers singing “The Letter.” His name was Bo Bice or something else very name gamey. Fanny fanny bo banny!
