American Idol - 3/15 & 3/16

the fake out: Lindsey and Mikhala were standing there, and Ryan said “Mikhala. You will have to wait 3 minutes to find out” and then they cut to a commercial.

Yes.

But that still wasn’t as bad as the ensemble performance at the beginning.

She almost dropped the F*** Bomb.

Goodbye, Lindsay…

I guess the hairdresser from Friends has worked her way over to American Idol and got her hands on Bo’s hair. She shoulda started with Constantine though At least Bo looks like he washes his hair. I swear he had the Jennifer Aniston/Coutney Cox-Arquette/Lisa Kudrow straight, stringy hair thing going.

I wouldn’t be half surprised if a little Christian romance wasn’t cropping up between those two.

No suprises at all in the bottom 3 or elimination. I called it nearly perfectly just before the show, scene by scene, but I had Nikko instead of Jessica in the bottom 3.

It was worse than that, he said “Mikhala, it’s bad news … you’re going to have to wait 3 minutes to find out.”
Well, I think the handwriting was on the wall for Lindsey and I didn’t really have a problem with that bottom three at all. Jessica is technically a better singer than the other two, but she’s a bit dull. I hope Mikhala manages to stink up the place again next week so she can say bye-bye.
I actually think that this group of constestants sounds a lot better singing together than previous groups. The groupd sing wasn’t too bad.

My girlfriends and I were watching together by phone, as soon as the camera cut to Bo we said simultaneously “They ironed him!!”

Isn’t flat and shiny better than frizzy and split-endy at least? I’ve wanted to get hold of that guy’s head since the first auditions, I wouldn’t have ironed but I would have trimmed and introduced him to some anti-frizz product.

It woulda been hilarious for Seacrest to just say “Everyone with a penis, you’re safe” tonight.
I’m so very glad it was Lindsey, how cool when the voting goes right!

Ruben was in the audience, anyone catch that? I read an outdated People article in the doctor’s office that was talking about Ruben’s diet issues, he claims he’s not concerned with his weight, everyone claimed they were worried about his health. No one quite said it, but the implication was that he just doesn’t have the stamina to tour at all anymore. He gained nearly a hundred pounds after winning, he blamed being on tour and having a messed up schedule for the gain. Randy Jackson is now working with him daily as a ‘life coach’ trying to help him adjust his relationship with food, understand that there’ll never be a time when he won’t diet, etc.
The article was from December and claimed Ruben was working on releasing a gospel album. I don’t follow gospel, anyone know if that ever happened?

You guys crack me up re: Bo’s hair, I thought it was just my imagination.

Did anybody notice Anthony’s arms? His voice was meh, but I’d vote for those arms.

But then Mikhala would’ve said “I got one here in my purse!” LOL

Ruben released I Need An Angel. Which I thought said “I need an angle”. I’m that cynical.

[li]Anwar (A House is Not a Home) – Uneven. Poor song choice. One so-so week shouldn’t hurt him though. Audio only: not-so-good on the low phrases, fabulous on the high parts[/li][/QUOTE]

Weakness on the lower notes has dogged almost every AI idol contestant since season one. Proper support is something you typically find only among the gifted few. The AI women are particularly weak in this area, thus their reliance on screeching in the upper registers.

Agreed. Mikhala was atrocious, but Lindsay’s adieu rated a negative 47.

I think there’s an outside chance that Anthony could be this season’s dark horse–provided he can start choosing good songs. He doesn’t have Idol ability, yet, but could get into the top six.

I like the group performances.

In fact, I only watch results shows to see the group sing, I could miss the drama and just find out who goes home by checking online.

Stop throwing stuff at me, Dio! :stuck_out_tongue:
I think the group pieces are fun, an opportunity for the contestants to show us more of their personality and any chance to sing they should be grabbing at to show off, right? Tonight’s was weird, very high-school choir ensemble, I was hoping for more of a fun 60s medley incorporating different song styles, bit of rock for Bo, ballad for Anwar, maybe a girl group moment for Nadia, Vonzell and Carrie, etc. Even when they screw up and forget the choreography or the words, I like the group performances.

Just sayin’

But why was it so dark? Why were they in a garage? It looked like a big pickup truck was gonna squash them all.

Oh wait. That was a commercial.

:d

Eek, how’d I do that?

Anyway, you slay me Biggirl.

I love the incredibly high production quality of the commercials, and I work for Ford. Wouldn’t it be great for them to branch out into the other sponsors, they could do the lime in, you coconut song next!

Thank you! I was desperately in need of a laugh today
:stuck_out_tongue:

That commerical was at least ten times better than anything from last season. (Mr. Rilch knows one of the guys who rigged it, so I may be biased. ;))

As for the group sing, was the audience told to do the sea anemone thing?

Another round with Mikalah? Sigh. But I can understand jettisoning Lindsey. I can only hear about two-thirds of the lyrics when they come out of her mouth.

In keeping with easy themes, next weeks “theme” is Billiboard #1 songs.

I her purse? I’m pretty sure she has one in her pants, and she just tucks. Because she? Is totally a drag queen. Gah.
