My son counted, David A. licked his lips 4 times. The first was worst because you could hear it in the mic.
Not as good as usual, but not bad at all.
All I can hear now when David A sings are his wheezes and gasps for air. Once someone pointed them out, they started really grating on me. I noticed the lip licking from before but now I just don’t look at him. I agree that this was probably his worst performance. I wonder if his voice is getting tired?
Looks like the spoiler was right for Gay Danny. I loved his arraingment but not the execution.

Gay Danny is the singing version of Christian from Project Runway. Except Christian is out of the closet (I think).
Ok, Luke is local… so I will say that I love that song, I just wish he would BELT SOMETHING OUT instead of trying to blend it with a group.
Next, I’m bummed that David was second… I didn’t have time to savor the anticipation. I will admit that the lick lip is a bit distracting, but still. I do love that little boy

Agreed. It was a fun arrangement, but it did not do anything to show off his voice. It seemed like the classic example of choosing the song you like, but for once the judges didn’t say that.
I am in love with Danny Noriega. He’s like the gay son I never had. I want to adopt him and take him home and have him be fabulous for me every day.

I think technically he’s probably doing a Meatloaf song. While I was listening I was IMing with my sister about it. I was hearing Meatloaf in my head doing a duet with a woman; my sister was hearing Celine Dion. I’ve never heard the Dion version.

That Phil Collins song David A. sang was also a LATE 89 release. I don’t like this “barely 80s” night.

David was horrible in the beginning of this song but picked it up in the end. And I am a child of the '80s-- I love this song.
Usually, when a contestant sings a song I love I can’t be objective. But I didn’t really love it.

OK, my ears are officially broken. I thought Aussie Boy was just horrid. Sure, the ending was loud and impressive, but the other 3/4? Yuck. I also think he messed with the lyrics of a well-known song way too much. He was leaping all over the place.
