When Seacrest first started intimating that “one of the rockers would stay and one would go,” Constant Cheese got a sick look on his face right then He knew he wasn’t going to outlast Bo. I think Bo knew it too, although he tried to pretend he was worried just as a courtesy.
Oh well. I’m glad Scott made it. I think he’s got a hell of a voice. Amanda and Janay will not be missed. Neither will Travis. Nikko deserved to stay longer than Connie but I guess he just never built a fan base for whatever reason. At least his dad is rich so life is not that bad for him.
It’s just tuesdays and wednesdays now. They all sing on tuesday and the result show is wednesday. The results shows get really annoying becaues there’s only one person to boot so it’s 29 minutes of filler. The worst is when they do horrible ensemble performances by the contestants.
Well, I watched it since it wasn’t opposite Lost after all.
I am annoyed that they made me think for a few minutes that Constantine was actually leaving. I’m glad Scott got to say but I feel bad for Nikko.
Please let Constantine and Mikhala be the first two voted off next.
Three out of four of my predictions were accurate: Amanda, Janay and Travis. I thought Scott may be the other male to go, and I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong.
I knew as soon as Ryan said “which of these two rockers will go” that it was a ploy. yawn
Lindsay and Constantine were the only two people that I’d rather not have in the finals. Lindsay I simply dislike, Constantine I perfectly HATE. AAAGG.
Everyone else ranges from Meh(Mikhala, Mario) to OMG LOVE(Nadia, Anwar, Bo, and Vonzell),
I knew Constantine wasn’t leaving, even though he’s weak, so it had to be between Scott and Nikko. I feel bad that I’m not happier for Scott: he’s big, he’s from Ohio, his dad didn’t want him to be a singer, he’s a hick while Nikko’s dad is a Hall of Famer…but I really liked Nikko, and was rather indifferent towards Scott when all was said and done. Crud. If only they weren’t doing this man/woman split, they’d both be in.
I was right about Mikalah: a lot of people vote because they don’t care who wins in the end; they just want to be entertained while the show’s on. And she provides entertainment. But she didn’t do her usual schtick when she found out she was in, so she may have given up her high card already.
And I was right about something else, though I don’t think I stated this prediction online. I just had a feeling that, in an effort to have a kinder, gentler results show, it would be a matter of telling one after another that they were in, and the four left standing would be out. It did look like they were going to pull a dick move on Constantine, and have him be the first to be told explicitly that he was out, but I’m accustomed to their switchbacks by now.
So long, Nikko. You got robbed, but you gave three fine performances; this is not the end of your singing career. Buh-bye, Gelfling. Amanda and Travis? Eh.
As far as being secretive about the themes, doesn’t that for the most part depend on who they can get for the guest judges, which is always a grab for ratings and relevance?
My only disappointment was Constantine staying instead of Nikko. The rest, I’m happy with. I guess America is sick of boy-band singing. Maybe it’s time for the pendulum to swing back to good ol’ classic rock.
I’ve nothing against the gal, but Mikhala simply can’t carry a tune. She warbles, is frequently flat, and is hellbent on aping Barbara Streisand. I think the problem, other than a lack of star talent and seasoning, is she’s picking these grandslam, showstopping diva numbers and simply doesn’t have the chops to pull it off.
I’ll also say that Anthony is starting to impress me, though Bo and Anwar are the obvious class acts. Given the polar opposite styles/sensibilities between Bo and Anwar, it will be an interesting next few weeks. Scott is interesting. Good voice. Quite good. But being obese/big-boned and not particularly good looking is the kiss of death on television, especially for Simon C. Speaking on whom, lord doesn’t he deal with stereotypes? Anthony is too Anglo to do Latin numbers. Scott is too fat to dance. Smirk McDoubleCheese has everything a power rocker needs, sans the voice and coolness. He belongs on the cover of Tiger Beat.
All of this points a problem: pitting a 16-year-old high schooler (Mikhala) against, say, a 27-year-old Bo or Anwar is going to result in an ass kicking most every time, unless we’re talking savant and Mikhala is no savant. Bo has years of seasoning behind him. I’d like to hear him when he was 16. I’m also interested to see how he does when disco, big band and really idiosyncratic themes come around. Anwar may carry the day simply because he’s the superior decathalete.
Last thought: Nadia may be the hottest gal to hit the stage since day one. So-so voice, tho.
I’m guessing Bo has the best future, but have no idea in what capacity. He needs a Way Back Machine set for Woodstock.

It’s much moreso when you watch her perform (and keep the movie clips of “Sweet Transvestite” or “I Can Make You A Man” in your head) than the pictures convey.
Not to say she isn’t hot. Tim Curry’s hot, but she is hot LIKE Tim Curry.
Some fun and pure speculation with numbers: they got 120 million votes. They probably have 30 million viewers. Of those 30 million, I’d bet at least half don’t vote at all. So each voter votes at least 8 times.
I knew from the beginning Constantcheese wouldn’t be going home, so that schtick did nothing but irritate me. I just remember looking at the stage when Scott, Nikko and Travis were there, realizing only one of them were in and thinking "aw, shit, Nikko’s out… there was just no way Scott was going home just yet. The underdog will stay in it at least a few more eps.
And Constantcheese is so the next Nikki McKibbon, og help us all.
I’m really glad they raised the age limit. Has everyone noticed that the best performers (Bo, Anwar and I think Nadia even) are all above the old age limit? Some experience coupled with raw talent can be amazing.
My apologies to any and all transvestites be they tricked out or not. It is much to harsh a fate to be compared to Mikalika-- especially pre-Hollywood.
