I think it’s ridiculous to compare a DUI with an unplanned pregnancy. One is illegal, the other is just a mistake a lot of people make. I don’t judge her on it. In fact, doesn’t LaToya have two or three step-kids? If you don’t think the American Idol should have kids, then she’s out as well.
I have been voting for Fantasia the last few weeks, but I also like LaToya. Diana and Jasmine need to go, although I fear that Diana will win. She doesn’t look/sound like a pop star to me, but hey, what do I know? There are plenty of mediocre pop stars, so I guess she’ll just join them.
There’s a possibility that I would buy an album by Fantasia, but I doubt it. No way on the rest of them. I like singers who can write their own material and possibly play an instrument. Generic pop just doesn’t cut it for me.
I don’t think you’d be any happier if Fantasia had had an abortion. Is is just the sex at a young age thing? And if so, can we say for certain that Diana is a virgin? (John Stevens, well, okay.)
Uh oh. I didn’t mean to start a fight. Peace, everybody.
First, I didn’t mean to sound like I was comparing DUI and teen preganancy. I was trying to emphasize that singing isn’t the only thing that matters on AI, not saying that getting pregnant is like driving drunk.
Second, I’m not touching the abortion comment with a thousand-foot pole. No offense, and I see the point you’re trying to make, but I’m not nearly worked up enough about this to touch that lightning rod.
This is a popularity contest. Anything is fair game. You’re free to not vote for George because he blinks too much, or Diana because her mom is the Platonic ideal of a Stage Mom, or for Jasmine because she wore a flower in her hair four too many weeks. I don’t vote for Fantasia because I don’t like her singing, but I admit that the kid thing is somewhat troublesome to me.
I didn’t mean to make you feel picked on. (In fact, I giggled at the thought of you unknowingly opening up a can of worms.) I bet a lot of people agree with you. I just don’t really get it, so I had to ask.
There’s supposed to be an upset in order, this evening… I guess that could be anyone is going except for AlohaKitty™, and I think Diana has been gaining in popularity recently, so I’m guessing either Fantoya or Latasia is going home.
They’re starting about twenty-five minutes later than usual, and they plan to run it until 10 p.m. Plus, the show last night was about disco, which means I think anyone who didn’t refuse to perform on principle should have been disqualified, because disco sucks so bad.
If my wife makes me watch this tonight, and I miss South Park, I’m going to be upset.
skutir, I read your post without reading the quote first and thought you meant the “American Idol Special Olympics Episode.” So I’m thinking, “Wow, guess I missed that one!” :smack:
Well, I just got my Tuesday and Wednesday TV schedule freed up. I won’t watch anymore.
Sorry, I don’t know how to do a spoiler box.
It was Tamyra Gray all over again.
I’m sick of people being kept in on sympathy votes (Jasmine). I actually had a feeling that would happen because the mean ole judges made her cry. I can’t stand Fantasia’s voice and although I think Diana has the best voice remaining, she has not been as consistently good as LaToya. I have no interest in watching the rest of the season. I know others have said it before and not meant it, but I do. LaToya was the only reason I was watching this season. Diana is not good enough to make me want to sit through more of Jasmine’s pitch problems and Fantasia’s cartoony screech. I think I’ll just read SDMB for Idol news.
LaToya is only about one million times better than Jasmine and easily outclasses Diana. Clearly the teenyboppers rule the night and this evening’s results now point to a Diana D. win.
