Does anyone have a copy of the disclaimer that appears at the end of the show with the credits? From what I understand, it basically says the producers can choose whoever they want to be the American Idol.
Thanks!

Let it go Mangosteen.
Sanjaya just wasn’t that good
I don’t have the disclaimer, but from what I understand, if they feel that certain contestents are getting more votes due to computers/wardialers calling in they can adjust the votes. So yes, in the end they can decide who stays and who goes if they can make it look like people are using automatic dialers.
BTW does anyone know if a gaming commision watches over them?
Sanjaya is a terrible singer and should never have gotten as far as he did, but he wasn’t eliminated because he didn’t get enough votes to stay on. American Idol is not being up front about it and I’m disappointed the media isn’t questioning what happened. Not in the bottom three the week before and then eliminated the next week.
All the contestants have some people vote for them using computers/wardialers, etc. Its the only way 38 million votes could get in during the short voting period.
You forgetting something very important. American Idol is NOT a singing contest, if it was it would be on the radio. It’s about picking out the person that America likes the best, and who will make the most money. I never vote, but I have to say, I always looked foward to seeing what Sanjaya would do next.
It’s all a conspiracy, of course. They also killed JFK, started WWII, and put the mind control drugs in the water. (Ha Ha. Only kidding. Just a joke. No one would seriously do that, nor would they kill someone for mentioning it on a discussion board.)
However, the real answer is: who the hell gives a damn? It’s a TV show. If you don’t like what’s going on turn it off.
They didn’t kill JFK. Who do you think was in that fake space suit when they shot the “moon landing?” Neil Armstrong? Give me a break.
Which shows… that he had a better performance two weeks ago than this week? The point you are trying to prove is…?
People vote by calling a toll-free number. With 25 million viewers each week, it’s not a stretch to think that a minority of viewers cast more than one vote each, making the vote total plausible without computers. Two hours is NOT a short voting period.
In any case, the American Idol website FAQ states:
Nothing about altering votes for any other reason.
I always thought Nigel Lythgoe looked sinister!!! :dubious:
