USA Today reports that American Pie: Band Camp will be released direct-to-video. Apparently the only person from the original cast is Eugene Levy.
So, Gene, this is for you.
*Bye, bye, Miss American Pie
You gave us Eugene Levy but now Levy is dry
Those other guys, got on with their lives,
This’ll be the one where it dies,
This’ll be the one where it dies. (Please.)

He was absolutely superb in “A Mighty Wind”. Then he’s done “Dumb and Dumberer”, “New York Minute” (the only Olsen Twins movie not direct-to-video), “The Man” and now “AP4.”
Maybe we can get Earl Camembert to do an investigative piece on “What was he thinking?”
I saw this film last night. I rented it at one of those dollar kiosks at the grocery store.
Not bad. Not good, but it had some funny moments. LOTS of gratutious nudity.
The main character is Steve Stiffler’s younger brother. The premise is, he gets sent to band camp as a punishment for playing a prank on the high school band.
The whole thing is over the top and totally implausible, but I liked it better than American Pie 2.
Pretty decent for a $1 straight to DVD offering, but don’t spend much more than that renting it.
Although like most of these teen flicks, the people who get nude are just random Playboy types. Not the “real actress” hotties who are starring in the movie.
Apparently, it sold over one million copies in the first week alone. That’s a successful straight to DVD film. Especially given the budget for that thing had to be a buck eighty.
My fella actually went to the Michigan Band Camp upon which the eponymous film is ever so loosely based (Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp). He even went there for band.
