I’ve been asked this question and haven’t been able to find the answer. Supoosedly, a blue door on an Amish house has some significance. It would seem blue is a very popular color for a wedding dress in the Amish community, but a blue door?

There’s an oft-repeated story that a blue gate on an Amish house signifies that the farmer has a daughter of marriageable age. It’s not true:
