Amplified Wellness -- Regenerative Medicine

I just received an ad offering a free buffet dinner if I attend a seminar for the Amplified Wellness company about Regenerative Medicine.

The ad has all the hallmarks of a timeshare scam. The only info I can find about regenerative medicine is: (1) It may be promising, but nothing is available yet, and (2) any testimonials about how great it is.

It’s a slick ad, “Imagine a life with less pain…” but I see nothing of a scientific or medical nature here. Anyone have any comments about or experience with this topic or company?

https://amplified-wellness.com/

It appears to be stem-cell based, mostly smoke and mirrors, possibly beneficial, certainly not yet mainstream. Not sure if they’re a hard sell, or what, but these companies are making money from someone.

I’m tempted to go to the dinner just to see what the fuss is all about.

A place like this has been making a lot of ad buys in the radio stations I listen to. A lot. The commercials promise the world and are full of testimonials from doctors and patients, but not once have they actually said what the hell they do.

I just went to their website and the information is equally slim there. Importantly, there’s this quote:

Numerous scientific studies and clinical trials attest to the effectiveness of regenerative medicine techniques. For instance, a study in The Journal of Pain Research found substantial relief from chronic pain in patients treated with regenerative therapies.

A legitimate website would, at this point, have a number of citations to back this up. This website has none.

Do it for science and the crappy buffet food.

Leave all forms of cash, credit, titles and deeds at home. Locked in a safe. Leave your phone home.

Sit by an exit.
If a dim light starts blinking get up and run out.

Isn’t all healing “regenerative” to some extent? Namely, your body grows some new tissue that knits your bones, scabs over your wound, etc. etc.

Sounds like this hype is trying to give the impression that the treatment will just let you grow brand-new factory-fresh parts out of stem cells like a starfish or something. Which, nah.

I went to their dinner. Yes, I found it strange there was no name of the information as well…however I am interested in finding out anything that can help with my pain. Interesting I have heard and researched STEM CELL for over 20 years…and have also spoken to doctors locally years ago, when back were not allowed to be done in America. I have spoken to many many people who have had knee stem cell and other areas in my job over the years. (Insurance injury claims) ALWAYS do your research….I am going forward with it …and praying it will help. I do NOT expect 100% success….nor did they say everyone got that…I have read medical reports on back surgeries for 30 years……the majority were worst off than they started….the only negative is it is out of pocket it would actually be beneficial for Medicare to pay for this than the surgeries that run $60,000-100,000 each.

So, Animalwoman1955, you did your own research. What data did you find that convinced you that this will help you (or anyone) and isn’t just a fundraising program for some scammers? For a $60k-100k cost, that should be extremely convincing evidence. What do you have?

First, I did NOT say stem cell cost 60-100,000. I said SURGERIES of knees and backs do.
Second, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. I have talked to stem cells companies for over 20 years. And as I stated I PERSONALLY KNOW multiple friends who have had their knees done and others people in my career who have told me about it.

If you have done YOUR OWN RESEARCH, perhaps you would like to give us the benefit of it. And anecdotes like “multiple friends who have had their knees done” are not evidence. Published papers and studies by reputable scientists might be – can you cite any of those?

If you or anyone is willing to spend $60-100k for a surgical operation, I hope they have more than praying and hope to offer.

Once again Musicat……the 60-100K is for surgery…not stem cell….and it is not oop.
Stem cell is a procedure. Again, I do my own research and expect everyone to do theirs. Im sure you have local stem cell practices in your town…call them …call Amplified…
I gave my opinion ….i have more important things things to do than do your homework. As in school it is your own responsibility to do it and make your own opinion.

So you have no research to offer. Why did you come to this thread?

If you have the surgery or whatever, I wish you the best of luck. Afterwards, please come back and tell us about your experience.

@Animalwoman1955, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, so I’ll take a moment to explain a tiny bit about the culture of this venerable (and crotchety!) message board.

See the whole tagline “Fighting ignorance”? The board, while it has plenty of areas that are just for maundering discussions about our various passions, generally has a deep respect for verifiable, or at least, researchable certainties about almost any topic.

You can express most (there are a few tired topics that you can find if you read the board rules in ATMB) opinions, up to the limits of your persuasiveness and diction, but if you can’t back it up with verifiable sources (and good ones, peer reviewed if at all possible) then most people will be dismissive, especially if the subject is extremely speculative or tainted with pop or pseudo science.

If you demand other people “Do their own research” that’s, in board culture, a statement that you’re too uncertain of your own “facts” to be taken seriously. Or that you know it’s unverifiable, and are attempted to assert that your opinions should be taken as fact.

Either way, it will absolutely raise hackles, and vastly increase the skepticism of anything provided even anecdotally. Don’t get me wrong, we have plenty of people who will mention anecdotes and own personal experience regarding a huge variety of technical subjects - but most will -specify- they are doing so, and offer it as a single data point, not some sort of “truth”.

It is your claim, not ours. How can we do research on your claim without you giving us details instead of anecdotes?

Which ones specifically? Which companies would you have us research?

I did notice that, of the twenty people on their medical team only two are doctors-the rest don’t even have so much as an “RN” next to their names. There is this disclaimer on the website: “Amplified Wellness products are not FDA approved or licensed for the prevention, treatment, diagnosis, mitigation and/or cure of any disease or condition, including COVID-19. All statements and opinions provided are for education and informational purposes only and we do not diagnose or give medical nor legal advice. Individuals interested in natural biologics therapy are urged to review all pertinent information and do their own research before choosing to participate in treatments utilizing natural biologics products.”

There’s a lot of money in stem cell quackery.

If “doing your own research” means “searching for websites that tell me what I want to hear”, it won’t do much good.
