I’m surprised that there isn’t already a thread on this subject (at least, not that I could find). Here’s mine from today. Any ideas what it means?
I think it means what it says: other drivers should allow him to merge, possibly having passed up a lot of unmerged cars to get ahead faster, because they should feel sorry for him for whatever reason, even an ironic one (my father has also died, I became an orphan at 60).
I see this sort of passing and trying to merge in the front quite a lot on freeway exits that have backed up actually into the freeway (as during rush hour); they often succeed, not necessarily because of the kindness of other drivers, but because of the sloppiness and inattention of other drivers who let car-sized spaces open up in front of them even when traffic is crawling.
That’s hilarious.
My favorite bumper sticker remains the classic: OPINIONS!!
This is my fave. The owner works near here and I can see the car any time I visit their store.
“Conserve energy; Commute with a Hamiltonian”
It was one of the winners of the Physics Today bumper sticker contest. (It’s a hilarious quantum physics joke.)
Re: The OP- He forgot to put the companion sticker next to it: “AND IF YOU DON’T, YOU’RE NEXT”’
It reminds me of one I saw just this morning: A patriotic pseudo-election bumper sticker that read “TRUMP $20.28 (a gallon)”
My brother bought a Model Y back in 2015 so I got him one that said,
I bought this when he was just the cool space guy.
Love it!
@markn_1, I first saw that one in France — in French, of course (last June).
The one I saw (in the parking lot for a town hall held by my Dem congressman) said “Love the car, not the man.”
I saw a Tesla where the standard stylized “T E S L A” across the car’s rump in their cool futuristic trademarked font had been replaced by “F E L O N”.
One word, at least two great meanings.
Can you say, “Cognitive Dissonance?” I saw a pickup truck with 2 adjacent stickers on the tailgate. One said, “GLOCK.” The other said, “PRO-LIFE.” I can’t figure out how to include the photo.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw a pick-up truck (lifted, of course) with a sticker that displayed both the American flag and the Confederate battle flag. “Pick one, they’re mutually exclusive”, I thought to myself.
I saw a car with a white, oval sticker with the letters “SJP” and thought “wow, someone is a big Sarah Jessica Parker fan.”
It’s actually for a local school, St. John’s Prep, but I like my explanation better.
San Juan, Puerto rico anyone?
