Amusing Signs

I hope it’s right next door to a hair salon named “Curl Up & Dye”!

Do they give their clients money, instead of the other way around?

(And how many times a day does their poor receptionist hear that line?)

When I was a teenager, I was delighted to discover a hair salon in my neighborhood called M.T. Heads. Until I realized it was probably intentional.

My proposed comeback:

For every thousand dollar tooth extraction you buy we will give you this nice shiny new quarter to put under your pillow tonight.

Seen the other day in upstate NY:

Verizon
Urgent Care

Hey, a malfunctioning cell phone could be an emergency!!!

The best phone repair place around here is called “Broke Ass Phone”.

Gibraltar, summer of '03.

I saw a “Fuck you, be happy” graffito.

I got a puncture on the way to my sisters to she directed me here.

I was curious where it was; with Tyre, I thought the Middle East or somewhere about? Lebanon maybe?

Nah, tyre is just some snooty upper crust Brit spelling of tire. While there’s been significant British meddling influence in the middle east; there aren’t that many Lebanese with the surname “Steve” there.

I think it is actually his Christian name but all the Brits (not just the snooty ones) spell the rubber things that go on your car wheels as “tyre” even if fitting them makes Steve tired (with the British spelling).

There’s a hairdresser’s in London called Barber Streisand.

Every time I see this thread, I th8nk of this song

Little help, anyone know what SAC refers to here?

Strategic Air Command?

That’s what Microsoft Copilot told me, anyway.

I’d say Sacramento, but that’s a Virginia plate.

School Advisory Council?

Years back, I posted here about a sign at a local wine store. It was something like “Thanks, Teachers!” (during some “honor our teachers” week).

Yep, wine or beer will help you deal with the little darlings!!

If there’s a college located in Sacramento, that has a rival school, that might explain it. I recently saw a plate on a car we parked next to, and told my companions “They are clearly NC State fans”. They were puzzled, until I noted that it said “H8NUNC”. Then we looked more closely and saw that it was a plate that supported NC State.

I resisted the temptation to vandalize the car (as a loyal Tarheel, I should have, I suppose).

I was really surprised while watching a youtube of Seoul South Korea to see that the road signs on the way out of the airport were identical to American billboards – including the interstate shield. I’m guessing they’re an artefact of the Korean War?

Are you sure they weren’t doing a whisky promotion?
