I’d like to know how her spokesman got the idea that emphysema is “totally reversible”, since it involves destruction of lung tissue that is not replenished.
You can stop further damage and manage symptoms, but you don’t grow new lung.
Ironic. She totally repels me in almost every way, but from the pictures I’ve seen of her, her “healthy lungs” were about the only thing she had going for her.

I am sorry that her lifestyle choices have caused this condition. If this doesn’t serve as a wake up call to her, then nothing will.

She must also have some bad genetics (on top of smoking like a chimney) to get emphysema at 24.
It’s apparently the habital crack piping not cig smoking (by itself) that’s killing her lungs at this age.

If you’re 24 and you’ve smoked so much crack that you have emphysema, not to mention all her drug arrests and all the other stories I’ve skimmed in the morning paper over the last year or so, I think you’ve gone way past any wake up calls and officially hit the snooze bar.
I’m not trying to threadshit. I think her music is pretty cool, for the little I’ve heard of it. It’s a shame, but I also have a hard time believing it: I don’t think I’ve ever seen a musician this determined to kill herself through drugs.
Have you seen earlier pictures of her? She was nice-looking; curvy, pleasant, no tattoos, no weird hair or makeup. I am astonished at how quickly she has self-destructed, and so early on in her career, too. She reminds me of a female Keith Richards, except Richards is still alive and well, and she looks like she is about one crack pipe away from the grave. It’s a shame, because I think she did have a real talent for music.
Bugs me, it does. I wish I could sing! I swear, if fate had given me a great voice and a band behind me, I wouldn’t have wasted it. Gah, squandered talent.
I know in this puritan age this might be a controversial opinion, but its nice to see at least one rock star in recent times has tried the Rock N Roll lifestyle with the Drugs included…
I’m not saying I agree with drugs as a solution to anything for anyone, however, I’d rather hear music from someone who has lived the life and had the loss than the souless tinkerings of the likes of Codplay…
I would just add that so far, no physician has said she has emphysema. So maybe she does, maybe not.
Man, I better not ever have to introduce her for anything. She is a Freudian slip waiting to happen.

Lots of people have her. I even read an article about her once that described her as “on the top of everyone’s death pool list”.
Probably not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are girls out there stupid enough to look at her as a role model. Maybe it’ll be a wakeup call for them.
I’m not sure what this even means. You need to ravage your brain before you can create credible music? What is “the life?” If you want to hear about “the life” of being fucked up in public and yelling at reporters, just buy a subscription to “Us” magazine. It’s cheaper than an Amy Winehouse CD, and you get pictures.
