Yeah, “crazed male fan feels ‘pissed off’ and ‘rejected’ by female actress he does not actually know” never ends well.
Naah, Jodie’s in her 50’s.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I think I may have figured it out.
Lamar decides to follow Alice Actress on FB, which is something people do. (I follow James Gunn and Neko Case, among others.) Alice’s social media person screws up and adds Lamar as a friend rather than a follower, which means Lamar can see all her private personal posts, not just the public ones. This understandably freaks Alice out when she realizes it, and her assistant apologizes and resets Lamar to an ordinary follower status, which Lamar gets weird about.
Not at’all…she’s right in my range. It’s just that he said the actress in question is in her 40’s.
No, Jodie, that wasn’t an offer.
It’s not just you; that was borderline incoherent. But people were able to understand that the OP is pissed because some celebrity he isn’t actually friends with in real life isn’t giving him the level of access he thinks he deserves (for some reason), and that’s creepy.
Can somebody PM me when this guy finally says who this person is/isn’t? I really can’t see why you can’t say. It doesn’t matter if they’re real or fake. Nobody’s gonna laugh at you or anything.
As has been said a few times, I seriously doubt this actress has any clue whatsoever who Lamar Mundane is.
A-list performers who are active on social media almost always have people who actually manage their account(s). They’re a brand, just as a multimillion-dollar company is a brand, and their online personas are usually handled as such.
I do almost nothing social media-wise, but I’m familiar with the process, and have seen it in action. I think the actress in question (or, rather, the folks managing her social media presence) wanted to increase her friends / followers / audience, and sent out friend requests – likely hundreds or thousands – as a result. **Lamar Mundane **happened to get one of these.
There really is no reason whatsoever to keep the identity of the actress secret. Doing so just seems to be a ploy to get attention.
I’m happy to be proven wrong on that.
Well, I still give y’all credit for parsing at least that much out.
This was never about who the actor is. That’s y’alls obsesion. I just wanted to know if this was common thing. For the record. she’s a sweetheart and a philanthropist. And I’m not going to tell you her name.
Well, that’s your call if you want to stay all mysterious, but can you clarify what this is about?
Okay … can you point me to where you asked if this was a common thing?
Moving on…
Do you have a rational reason for this? Or just an emotional one? Like “I have a secret relationship that I’m not going to share with anyone else and you can’t make me.”
She’s extremely private
I give up…
ETA: If she really is “extremely private”, and asked you not to reveal her name, then I admire your restraint…
ETAx2: Unless you’re just assuming that, and she chose a career that lets her be in the public eye (like maybe being… a celebrity?)
You wanted to know if what was a common thing? Forget the name, no one can make head or tails of what you are talking about.
After reading this thread, I cannot blame her.
