A complete average person asks you out on a date.
On a 1 to 10, they’re a 5. Average looks, education, personality. IQ is 100. Nothing particularly remarkable, unusual or different.
Men, how would you respond?
Women, how would you respond?

“I am already married, and thus will obviously not go on a date. The wedding ring on my finger should have tipped you off to this fact.”
Ehh. I could take it or leave it, really.
Would depend on what else there was to do.
The hypothetical, of course, assumes singleness.
I am a happily married male, and would politely turn the person (male or female) down.
…but I’d be flattered by the asking. And if I were single and the other person was female, I’d have accepted (which is how I answered the poll).
Assuming I was single, I’d happily try a date. Although, if they are truly average in every way, I doubt it would lead to much more. You want someone who is special somehow, right?
I’d say yes
I’m below average so this would be a good deal for me
poor guy
If single, sure. We might discover a lot we have in common. Or not.
Yes, yes, yes. Only one person in my life has ever asked me out. It’s a rare treat, and the novelty alone would be reason enough to accept.
No. It’s neither the looks nor education, but an IQ of 100? No way.
Is there poontang involved?
My last date was with a “1.” Entirely successful date.
Considering I’ve never gone on a date before, I’d gladly accept such a offer.
:(:( poor guys
Average looks, job, whatnot would be fine. Average IQ not so much. I’ll take a smart underachiever, we’ll have a lot in common.
I’m married. Even if a time-displaced Ann-Margaret from whatever year CARNAL KNOWLEDGE asked me out on a date, making it clear that dinner and a movie was code for a blowjob and coitus, I’d say no.
Yup. I could determine looks in an instant but I’d have to talk to them to determine the rest. Who knows, we might just hit it off…& maybe what Ukulele Ike said.
Why not? The average person is something other than average in at least some ways. Maybe that average person’s ways of diverging from the average will match mine. You never know.
