An early baby is welcomed to Tokyo

She needs to be born on October the 10th. That’s my Smaller Girl’s birthday.

Then you get “Ten out of ten for birthdays”

I thought it was Beta-chan’s arrival as well. No news is good news in this case  .

Beta-chan is doing well!

The ultrasound measures her at 2090 grams, or 4 lbs, 9 1/5 oz for the Americans out there. The weight is just right!

Lots of grey! Lots of boredom! Ordinary! Nothing special!

The cervix is firmly closed shut! No danger yet of early labor.

Keep sticky little one! At least five more weeks!

Good, still boring and grey. We like to hear that!

How’s the missus? She getting uncomfortable? Do you see Beta rolling around under her skin? You do rub your wife’s feet for her, don’t you? That’s what you’re supposed to do. That and take lots of pictures.

She’s really uncomfortable. As I said, Beta is much, much stronger than Ian was, and kicks, pushes and does laps in the tummy. Just last night, my wife asked if women really don’t explode if the baby gets too big. And we’ve got six more weeks.

I do rub her feet, and her stomach, and her neck, as well as wash dishes when she cooks, and cook and wash dishes when she doesn’t.

We’re taking pictures.

All checked!
