Sorry, I should have made that clear. Flights are really cheap right now. I can fly to Chicago for something like €300 but I don’t have time what with a huge amount of work due end of January.
Oh to be in the Euro… the pound is getting weaker by the day. 
Illuminatiprimus, a huge amount of Christmas shopping is being done up north in order to make savings with weak pound, also to circumvent greedy merchants in the Republic.
I don’t get a mention Irish, from Ireland back there 4-5 times a year and will of course be back at Christmas.

Gah, Enniskillen has been like a car park for months now, because of a steady stream of mexicans flooding over the border to get cheap beer from ASDA. I regularly pass a queue of cars about three miles long that is made up almost exclusively by southern reg cars. Sligo reg, Cavan reg, Dublin. I have even seen cars from Longford and Kilkenny.
I would hate to have to shop down south if that is the distance people will go just to get a van full of Carlsberg
Ah, I knew I’d left out loads of people. There’s someone from Waterford whose username escapes me. Doesn’t seem like there’ll be a meeting before Christmas alas, unless yourself, Yojimbo and mise have a minimicroDubDope.
I did my shopping in Aughnacloy ;-), not a sinner in sight and I was passing through anyway. Longford isn’t too far from the border, Kilkenny is though.
It’s really worth it if you plan and buy in bulk, even with the hassle.
