Here, but dead tired and majoring in melting-kids-brains-with-movies today. Mr. Lissar will be teaching at the dojo tonight, so it’s just me versus the kids until six, when my parents come over. We’re not doing much. I’ll pull out the playdough and help make train tracks and Gnat can play Starfall later. It’s too cold to go out and play.

I just had the call that the paperwork for my Greencard medical is ready to pick up from the doctor’s office. Said doctor’s office closes at 3 today…I have done all I needed to do today…methinks an early afternoon is called for
It is 80 and sunny again today and most of the office did not return from lunch so I am assuming they are enjoying the sunshine so I will to. Happy Weekend!
Pearl I just realized Gus is the rescue kitty y’all adopted. Even though it was just a few days, those last few days were spent in a safe and loving home.
Nachos for dindin. I was in the kitchen singin’ “Nacho, nacho, man! I’ve got to be a nacho man! Nacho, nacho man! I’ve got to be a nacho!” Then I thought, ewww, I don’t wanna be a nacho.
**Pearl **sorry to hear it. I went through the exact same thing about 2 years ago; soon to be ex wanted a Siamese, went to craigslist, found Simon, brought him home, had him nuetered and turns out he had feline hiv; he never recovered and had to put him down. 72 hrs total.
Pearl, ya done good anyway. When VWife and I were heavily involved in Boxer rescue, we had 3 different dogs that came to us and died of some malady shortly thereafter. They were universally happy in their last days.
In other news, I gave VWife, the unluckiest woman I know, $15 to play on the lottery for tonight. The theory is her time must be due…
I just had a horrible thought - what if my cow-orkers win the big prize? $640 Million split 9 ways is a very pretty penny indeed, and I won’t see any of it.
On the plus side, they’ll all retire and I’ll never have to see them again.
I got to work with New Guy the First at work for a full shift this morning. He’s cool. He also is the 99% as in “99% of the people who work here are either gay or in recovery.”
Three of us put in two bucks a piece this mornin’ at irk for tickets. We decided if we win we’ll all meet at the door at irk on Monday mornin’ and fight it out to see who gets in the door first to turn in an immediate resignation.
In other news, the nachos was goooooooooood! So were the two cold beerverages to wash 'em down.
Whew - I don’t know how my daughter spends all day with 5th graders and doesn’t kill any of them! Plus I’m exhausted, but I’m glad I was able to help out. We went to the not-too-bad Chinese place for supper, and now I’m in sweats, about to assume the knit position.
I got 5 quick picks for the lottery. Frankly, I’ll be amazed if we hit 3 of the numbers, but as they say, someone has to win. Might as well be me. I told **FCD **if we won it, he could build a house entirely for aquariums. (Aquaria?)
‘Tis rainin’. I hope it rains all night and washes some pollen away. We’re supposed to do yahd irk tomorrow but it might be too wet. Whatever shall we do?
Thanks for your ((())) & sympathies, all. It made a sad day a little easier. I plan to get another rescue (from a shelter) as soon as I have the funds available. I have realized. As much as I love Leo, my wildchild, I need a lap cat.
**Pearl **- I don’t know if you were around when Charley was almost our cat. She was a stray that had been hanging out in our yard for years. Last year when it got so cold and snowy out, we let her in the garage, intending to get her to the vet when she accepted us. Well, one day, I went out in the garage and she was yowling like mad, unable to move - her back half was paralyzed. So off to the vet we went, but we knew she’d have to be put down - she’d only lived in the garage for a couple of weeks, but we felt like we’d lost a long-time pet. But at least we gave her an easy ending.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 80 and accordin’ to the weather folk we should have a line of tstorms movin’ through around seven a.m. It rained a little over two inches last night. Even if that front does not come through we’ll have to wait until probably afternoon to do any yahd irk cause it’s really wet out.
That’s perfect pearl! I deserve to have OYKW rub my feet. Also, no it’s not crazy to get that attached to an animal in a couple of days. I’ve always said it takes me approximately five seconds to get permanently attached to a critter.
Now I shall go seek more caffiene. In a little while I do believe I shall cook a big brekkie just cause. I’m thinkin’ bacon 'n cheese omelettes, grits and buttermilk bizkits. If I do that then OYKW will be obligated to rub my feet.
Rainy, rainy, rainy. Nice! I can feel the pollen washin’ away. Brekkie has been had. I was told I would not be receivin’ foot rubs but back and shoulder rubs were entirely possible.
Long week,at work, but it appears that the worst is over. I’ve got a couple of things to do at home to get ready for next week, but it looks like we’ll have our implementation with fewer tears than it sounded like earlier in the week.
