An ode to joy - I can now rest in peace, I`ve had a thread closed.

(Apparently) Due to some objectionable material that was considered over the top by Mr. Uncle Beer I had my very first thread closed. It was posted in the proper forum, I think, MPSIMS. It dealt with a sexual experience that a close friend of mine had recently had the good fortune of experiencing. The subject of which Im afraid if even suggested here might get me the swift kick in the ass out the Banned door. Lets just say that some form of oral sex (nontraditional) was performed on my male friend. Im afraid to post the link in as much as it would be the same as simply cut and pasting the offending OP here. Which I may or not be able to do. If you care to search for the thread, type in "*eatin*" and select MPSIMS (April 16). I would like some input as I dont want to offend the Mods again. I see threads that deal with/contain all manner of sexual references and innuendo. Everything from the “spit/swallow” threads to the “Did I pop her cherry” thread, to the “How can I make my SO have and orgasm” threads. Im not so sure what Mine contained would be considered over the top. I have read some OPs that were better suited for Penthouse Forum than anything else. The fact that there are so many adult orientated topics mixed in with everything else would lead me to believe that almost anything goes. Obviously, good taste and the Mods mood on any particular day play a role. But whose to determine good taste? I had four seperate replies to the thread before it was closed and none suggested that the thread be closed/moved or even criticised the content. Usually when some thread is blatantly over the top it will get called out by a member even before a Mod sees it.
I guess I wouldnt have lived if I didnt have at least one thread closed in my life.
So, what are some guidelines to good taste/proper etiquette regarding OP content? I thought (most) anything went. What subjects are off the list? If needed I can provide the link, or some member here will feel bold enough to do it for me (looks over shoulder for Mod like character).

So, in other words lets critique my choice of topics as we discuss what topics we cant discuss.

OOPS

Excuse me, just what the hell is wrong with rimming? How is it any more obscene than cunnilingus or fellatio that we discuss all the time? I think there’s a great deal of ignorance on the subject that we would do well to dispel and I think UncleBeer’s closure was unnecessary.

In the meantime: http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rimming

Thank-you matt. Yes, rimming is the proper term.

So was the closing everything you imagined? Was it good for you too?

“Can`t” we just critique your all-too-precious punctuation affectation?

I had a feeling that thread was going to bite you in the ass…

:::d&r:::

I’d be very curious to know why the thread was closed. It didn’t seem that over the top to me, but I’m fully aware there may be stuff I’m not considering. Can we get a ruling here?

Most likely because someone reported the thread to the mods, and UncleBeer was having a bad day.

I’ve seen threads like that which stayed open indefinitely, and far worse than that. For what it’s worth, I don’t think it should have been closed either, whuckfistle.

whuckfistle, there’s an unspoken rule around here: you can start a sex thread on absolutely any topic you want, with the caveat that you have to perform the act in question on the moderators of the forum. (It goes without saying that I won’t be starting another fisting thread, thank you very much.) I think UncleBeer was just implying that there was no need to discuss the topic further until you pay up.

I expect we’ll see the thread re-opened, once they’ve paid you a visit…

Did you lose your ring?

No, I’m pretty sure I know where it is…

Whuckfistle, IMO all you did wrong was you didn’t put “TMI” in the thread title. I’ve seen some pretty raunchy threads go past all over the boards, and if you put a big TMI or “Warning–gross!” in the thread title, then it’s more likely to get a bye from the mods. 'Specially in MPSIMS, which tends to be the coffeeklatsch forum, and folks don’t expect to open a thread in a coffeeklastch forum and get hit with somebody performing a rim job in the OP. At least, not without a warning in the thread title.

Just MHO.

Last time I checked, nobody shit out of their dick or pussy (at least, not normally). So, being that many people have a taboo with playing with the crap factory/exit as part of their adult playtime, I don’t think it is rocket science as to why some may view it as “wrong” even if you don’t.

Personally, I don’t care. I think some TMI Zit threads are pretty graphic, so whatever floats your boat.

What, like “Eating Ass” wasn’t enough of a warning?! What did you think it was about, edible donkeys?

It seems to me, however, that they do use those for a rather similar process.

Well Matt, the penis and vagina are tools of reproduction. The anus is not, although I suppose they can all be pleasurable. Urine does not have nearly the same amount of nasties that feces can. Personally, if I had to choose, I’d rather have a drop of urine on my tonge than a chunk of turd incase my partner wasn’t as clean as they hoped. But hey, like I said earlier, whatever floats your boat. .

If a thread like that gets too graphic, I would have suggested just moving it to the pit instead of killing it.

Personally, I have a certain amount of practical experience that says that the latter would be easier to see beforehand. Be that as it may, the point was that the thread shouldn’t be preemptively closed, not that you have to enjoy the act.

After reading the thread in question, I don’t see anything wrong with it either.

However, if we’re talking about “taboos” (as you said in your earlier post, many people have the same sorts of taboos about urine that they have for feces. To put in bluntly, they don’t want either in their mouth. Basing the reason for why rimming is seen as more “wrong” than oral sex (which I do not agree with, by the way) on the biological functions of each and the taboos associated with them is simply a false distinction.

Well, that’s your choice. Many people, however, would choose to have neither on their tongue, and have strong taboos about either one. Again, while you may choose differently, you’re trying to speak for more people than just yourself here. The distinction you draw is a false one.

As to adding “TMI” to the thread title, I’m with matt_mcl. The title alone should have been fair warning. However, if UncleBeer felt that it wasn’t enough, why didn’t he just add “TMI” or “gross!” or “nasty!” to the thread title and leave it open? Closing it was still a 5-star overreaction.

Agreed.
