I especially liked her in The Turning Point. She and MacLaine were great together.
I would stop and watch anything she was in. That is rare for me.

Damn!
She’d be glad to hear all the praise in this thread for her roles other than Mrs. Robinson. Odd, too, that she was only six years older than Hoffman, yet playing a woman a generation older than his character.
I love Helen. Forever…and ever.

I write the url as one.after enter but preview changes it to three …
It also subtracts the D from detail.
I give up.
If anyone can figure it out, let me know.

But note that the characters were only a short generation apart. Benjamin was supposed to be 21, having graduated from college a year early. Mrs. Robinson was presumably supposed to be about 40. Elaine Robinson was also supposed to be 21, and we’re told that Mrs. Robinson had dropped out of college to marry and have Elaine, so she was about 19 when Elaine was born.
Anne Bancroft was incapable of giving a bad performance. Broadway will be dimming its lights in honor of her.
So Rest in Peace, Mrs. Robinson…
