Rolling Stone article indicates that the state AG office is investigating. Statement from AG Mayes:

“We are investigating the fake electors situation. I understand why folks want to know what is happening in our investigation. That is a natural desire given what just happened in Georgia and in Michigan,” Mayes said. “But we are doing a thorough and professional investigation and we’re going to do it on our timetable as justice demands.”

Says that there is also a federal grand jury convened.

Apparently, the Arizona fake electors didn’t try to keep it secret, unlike the fake electors in Georgia and Michigan. They videoed it and then posted the video to social media;

They actually have themselves on video doing it,” says one of the people familiar with the stage of the investigation. “It is as if Ward and everyone else were thinking: How do we make this a walk in the park for [the prosecutors]?”

I had a closer seat for watching the Arizona shenanigans than the other states pursuing the fake electors scheme. It’s been horrible to watch people I care about get sucked into all the lies and misdirection. No question they’ve been willing consumers, but I keep hoping something will break through.

More like they were thinking:

Since we will control the government after Jan 6th, there is no concern about illegal or legal. The law is whatever we say it is. Righteousness is whatever we say it is. And we’ll be dictating that for our convenience for the indefinite future.

IOW, the very definition of “impunity” as practiced in dictatorial and/or deeply corrupt shithole countries all over the world.

They did the same in Georgia and Michigan. I remember videos posted to Youtube by fake electors showing themselves voting in all the contested states. There was no attempt to make it secret.

I asked a question at the time as to whether they were committing a crime. Didn’t get an answer back then.

Indictments handed down for eleven of them:

A state grand jury in Arizona on Wednesday indicted so-called “fake electors” who backed then-President Donald Trump in 2020, following a sprawling investigation into the alleged efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s win in the presidential election in the state.

One month after the 2020 election, 11 Trump supporters convened at the Arizona GOP’s headquarters in Phoenix to sign a certificate claiming to be Arizona’s 11 electors to the Electoral College, though Biden won the state by 10,457 votes and his electors were certified by state officials. The state Republican Party documented the signing of the certificate in a social media post and sent it to Congress and the National Archives.

Boris Epshteyn, a former White House aide who remains one of Trump’s closest advisers, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani are among those who have been indicted, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

I love this cabal. Nothing bad could happen to them that would disappoint or offend me.

ETA: I’m going to use my extensive layperson’s legal experience (!) and assume that a conviction in any of these alternate slate of electors State prosecutions could assist in Fani Willis’s RICO case in GA.
