You seem to be saying because Chris Hardwick got his job back there was no harm done. I’m calling bullshit on that. As evidenced by this very forum, even if you’re innocent some people will still think you’re guilty. It’s not about money FFS. It’s about pride. It’s about honour.

And that is the life of a public personality. Heck, that’s life for all of us. If you get through life without ever having to take consequences for something you didn’t do, boy do you live a life of privilege. We need to share the social risk for being a society. Of course it’s not a court of law. Bringing these accusations to a trial with a judge and jury wouldn’t have the immediate effect and satisfaction of vengeance via social media. It’s a new era.

Now I’m convinced she’s full of shit. She published that essay on a very public platform, said she had damning evidence to back up her claim, dropped enough hints for everyone recognise who it is and now that she’s been called upon to supply that evidence she suddenly wants the matter dropped and wants nothing to do with it? I was willing to give this lady the benefit of the doubt, but now it seems she’s really proving some people right about this being a miscalculated ploy for revenge.

Also, I came across these two comments in a Jezebel article:

Rather she extremely overshares herself on multiple social media platforms. She talks about losing her virginity at age 18 to a married 34 year old man on her livejournal. On Reddit, she talks about trying to seduce her much older professor when she was the same age. (He didn’t go for it. To which she added, “I guess he had morals.” Ew, lady.) On facebook, during the Comic Con, which she said she was told not to leave her hotel room, she posted several pics hanging out with friends and going to parties. She has talked about her drinking problem, her drug problems, her addiction to cigarettes. She has talked about her hair pulling disorder and eating disorder and how she had this since childhood. (Though in the essay, she blamed Chris on it. Look, Chloe, don’t make a lie that can be proved so with a five minute google search.) She calls her parents estranged and “psychopaths” but then in the next moment, she says how they cool they are. She wrote in her essay how she was alone in the hospital save for that one woman turned enemy but then she made a youtube video how Chris slept in the hospital room, keeping watch over her. She keeps on re-editing the original essay. Tweaking the story. In other words, she lies. She continuously lies. And not just small lies. She lies about everything. Like the way Trump lies about everything.

I mean, how unstable are you that you write this essay calling someone a monster, accusing them of sexual assault in the hopes of having “a private conversation?” For someone who keeps on saying that she wants to move on, she still has their couple photos of up on her twitter, facebook and instagram. I wouldn’t be shocked if she stalks Chris.

This is not a case of being on “Team Chris” or any of that nonsense but rather not falling for someone who saw the #METOO movement as a chance to get personal revenge. She just made it that much harder for actual victims of abuse to be taken seriously.

AMC actually wanted her involved. She chose not to work with them. This backing out started after her account of events started falling apart. Other witnesses have come forward (male and female), and in at least two cases, Chris wasn’t even in the same city as her (with video evidence) as when she claimed some of the events happened. When it looked like legal action might be taken, this is when she decided to not get involved.

I’m very much a supporter of the #metoo movement, but this is one of the cases where I think it may have been a BS attention grab. Her story is falling apart at the seems. I had given her the benefit of the doubt when it was first released, as I usually do, but I no longer believe her. Which makes me really pissed off at her, as she’s hurting actual cases of abuse, and giving those Incel a-holes more fuel.

These are the kinds of inconsistencies I was referring to. If these comments are true, then anyone still taking her side at this point is either delusional, has a hate-boner for Chris or is projecting their own history of abuse onto Chloe and Chris.
