Believe whatever you want to believe. But why cast aspersions on her with no basis? Why not give victims and survivors the freedom and space to tell their stories however they’re most comfortable?
At the end of the article she implies she has proof of his abuse, should he want to take this to the next level. Also, he made a horrible comment IN FRONT OF HER MOTHER about how soon he could have sex with her after her surgery for an ectopic pregnancy.
As far as career destroying, she says she was blacklisted after she broke up with him.

When did I say she couldn’t tell her story? All I have claimed is that we need more information before we believe her accusations. All accused people have this right imo.
He hasn’t said anything, so the only person you’re not believing is the person who came forward.
She could have taken this to the next level by actually suing him. If he harmed her career she has a solid foundation for a lawsuit.
You’ve criticized her for the way she told her story. You said she should have done it differently. That’s more than just asking people to wait before making a judgment, and IMO it’s wrong and harmful to future victims and survivors.
I’m not not believing…in waiting for more information to come in. It might be a nitpick. Most of her allegations are relationship based and there are always two sides to the story. She hasn’t accused him of committing any crime. Had she I would have also been more likely to believe her initial account.
Disagree. If she had come out and said Chris Hardwick did these things to me then I would agree with you. She tried to accuse him without naming him. I don’t agree with this and thinking weasely.
Wait for information all you want… but why are you criticizing her simply for the way she told her story? If victims and survivors don’t feel free to tell their stories however they’re most comfortable without being criticized immediately (like you have done), then they’re less likely to come forward in the future.
So you’re making a choice to make it less likely victims and survivors come forward in the future. That’s terrible and harmful for society. There’s nothing wrong with people telling their stories however they’re most comfortable, and that means they are free to name or not name their abusers if they wish. Criticizing them for doing it a certain way is wrong and harmful.
I apologize for monopolizing this thread. I know My opinion is a minority one and I will listen to what others say and keep thinking this through.
You assume she is a victim. This has yet to be determined.
Okay. While you’re thinking, please try to imagine someone who endured some terrible treatment, and is trying to gather up the strength to tell her story. Maybe she feels like she could tell her story publicly, but she’s not comfortable yet with naming names, because she might lose her job or worse. And imagine she comes upon this thread, and considers that she might be better off staying silent, lest folks jump all over her simply because she told her story in a way that they don’t like.
I haven’t assumed anything. I’m simply saying that it’s wrong to criticize someone for telling a story a certain way, unless there’s very good reason to believe they’re being dishonest.
If you mean that it’s self induced due to what she does for a living, rather than being a manifestation of something other mental illness, sure. But in either case, you’re still starving your brain of what it needs to properly function.
You can take a person that’s physically and mentally healthy in every way and have them (voluntarily) underfeed themselves. Within a matter of months they’ll show signs of depression, loss of mental acuity, lack of energy to do much of anything etc. IOW, the things that happen to your body and mind because of starvation are going to be similar regardless of the reason that you’re not eating.

I’ve always found Hardwick offputting. His fake smile that always looks like he’s sniffing a dog turd and his general obsession with fame has been obvious for some time.
I kind of liked his @midnight show. But that’s irrelevant to my opinion of these accusations, and especially to how wrong it is to cast aspersions on accusers for nothing more than the way they tell their story.
