And now it's time for cyclone Glenda...

This latest cyclone is currently tracking just off the north-western WA coast.

I hope the damage isn’t as severe as that caused by Larry last week in QLD.

I just learned that the series of cyclones in Australia has something to do with the depressing rainy weather we’ve been having here this month. I really wish that the cyclones would quit hitting Australia :frowning:

Somehow seeing Cyclone and Glenda in the Same Op and then having it be in Australia (well known as Oz) makes me think Dorothy should be worried.

I hope it turns aways or drops down in force before it hits. Good luck. Glenda is suppose to be a good which after all.

:smack: which = Witch of course.

That’s the third cyclone that specific area has had this season.

News reports say it’s the fourth one. Hopefully, the damage isn’t too severe.

Do Cyclones not get named in an alphabetical order?

It sounds weird to hear Glenda coming after Larry.

I just means that Glenda was strong enought to be a named storm before Larry.

No, Larry is classed as part of the Eastern Region set, wheras Glenda is Western Region. Hence, the different pattern in naming. See here (scroll towards the bottom of the page).

The damage appears to have been fairly minimal, thankfully.

as another example of this, cyclone Watti tracked down the East coast of Australia immediately after Larry. It had come from another cyclone area further east and had been named in a sequence of cyclones separate from Larry.
