I’m in Far North Queensland at the moment and Cyclone [Hurricane] Debbie is currently bearing down on the coast to the south. Extremely high winds and monster tides are expected on Tuesday morning.
But that’s not important right now. What’s important is that all over Australia, sub-editors are salivating at the prospect. What will the headlines be?
“Debbie Does Damage”
“Debbie Blows Entire Town”
“Debbie Wet Takes Whole Bridge”
“Debbie Causes Swells Down Under”
“Debbie Causes Surge, Relief in Debbie’s Eye”
Only time will tell.
Ha ha…
And the Cowboys football team’s home ground is in Townsville. Coincidence???
Nice. They are doing well to get to late march and only up to the "D"s.
Surely a photo will be captioned “Singin’ in the Rain.”
I’ll just wait to see what the NT News comes up with. They’re always good for an inappropriate headline.
I like “Debbie Does Darwin”.
Gee, those folks in Queensland have all kinds of troubles*.
*yeah, I know it’s bullshit.
Stay safe up there, banana-benders. I hear it’s still just a tad windy today
Why did you folks name a cyclone after my ex-girlfriend?
Because when she came it was all moaning and blowing, and when she left someone lost a trailer.
