I thought I’d drop in and see how the gang is doing. Perhaps some of you would be so kind as to fill me in on any major events at these boards in the past year. Feel free to post links to any cooking topics, spectacular trainwreck threads, bannings or flame-fests. I’ll be lurking about as I prepare to launch a flurry of threads saved up over the months.
By way of explanation, whenever I find something consuming an inordinate amount of time in my life, I suspend that activity for one year. This lets me know that it is not any sort of addiction or habit. Back in 1996, I left my television unplugged an entire year for this same reason. As it is, I am going for a new record in that department. Currently, my television has been unplugged since August of 2001. But that is grist for another thread.
At this point I would like to express thanks to bare and Dijon Warlock for their concerned threads. I am also grateful for the personal inquiries by Tuckerfan and bdgr. I find it curious that people whom I had only a little interaction with proved to be those most interested in what happened to me. I’ll try to dig up their threads and post a link to this one.
So on with the show. Keep an eye out for the second volume of The Ultimate Recipe Thread. Once I update the Active Index, I shall launch the next installment. Rest assured that I promise to be every bit as annoying and obstreperous as I was in the past. Some things never change.

How sweet of you pug! Zen the wolfmutt is doing exceptionally well. He is maturing splendidly and becoming all that I could wish for in a hound. How are your little beige varmits?
There’s only one pugger left, I’m afraid. We lost the younger to stomach cancer last October, and the remaining girl is 15 years old, deaf, and rather blind. However, like any pug worth its salt, she still dives enthusiastically into her dinner - quite a feat, considering she only has about four teeth left.
