Is being a moderator now equal with being banned?
I suggest to avoid confusion someone now makes farmer oak a moderator then bans him.
I’ll accept banning (like I have a choice,) but I’ll be damned if I’ll be a moderator. Those guys work too hard.
My personal Code of Conduct prohibits working hard.

The thread didn’t start in the Pit. It was moved to the Pit because the moderator thought it was an insult, not praise. I have no idea why, as it sounded like praise to me.

I didn’t read it until it was in the Pit. I wondered why Praise was in the Pit, till I read the moderator comment where it got moved. But still thought it was praise.
Well, having him being made a moderator seems unlikely at this point, but banning looks real doable. Any other nominations for best new SDMB member?

My first and only notice of FarmerOak was where he told the mods not to make a “virus” the excuse for bad response times.
He was right on the nose, and they took offense.
Mods: If you don’t want people to call you liars, don’t lie - How hard is that?
All I can think of right now is Sifl and Olly, you know what I mean? 
lying has such a negative connotation. People say things which are untrue for different reasons. If said deliberately, knowing that the statement is untrue, one is lying. I don’t think the mods/admins lie.
If said unintentionally, and later proved untrue, one could be said to be mistaken. Or wrong. or…

They didn’t lie. If you had an ounce of brains in that fat-infested skull of yours, you’d have taken notice of the usage of the word "suspect, as in “I suspect it is that virus”. The very same virus that had the friggin’ White House in a panic for a brief while (to be fair, it’s actually a worm, but to Joe Typewriter, they’re essentially the same thing).
Seeing as how I doubt Mr. Oak’s knowledge of how the Boards run extend any farther than the Reply button, I don’t see how he felt justified in accusing the Admins of lying, nor do I see how he felt justified in demanding that the problem be fixed with such anal-retentive assholicness. Last I heard, he wasn’t the bloke that signed the paychecks.
So, essentially, Mr. Oak was way out of line in this instance. Hardly “right on the nose”.

I want to specifically enjoin posters from defending me… my detractors are much funnier. Expressing support for me will only get you in trouble.

You know, once upon a time, not so long ago, I told you you’d be OK. I still think you have the potential to be a good poster.
But hells bells, dude, why did you have to bash the Mods and Admins for something that was out of their control? Even if the problem was with the SD server, what makes you think that it was so easy to fix?
Furthermore, you need to chill out the rhetoric when it’s unwarranted. ATMB is not the place to flame people. You’ve been here as long as I have, you should know that.
I’d be sorry to see you go, but it would pass. Do yourself a favor and think about what you’re saying before you say it, or you will be gone.

I liked FarmerOak back in the ScOo_gUy threads, but that crap over in ATMB, and now this have really changed my mind. I still can’t believe that he had the gall to demand that the speed problems be fixed. And compared it to a restaurant, where one pays for service. I’ve never seen anyone piss off jdavis before.
Where he accused jdavis of lying was when he said: “Bull. This board goes down daily at 3:30am CDT, for about fifteen minutes, and that’s it.”
This was in response to jdavis saying that backup over a LAN is performed from 4:00 to 6:00 every day. This is true. Jdavis was clearly not lying about this. If people are going to accuse their hosts of lying, they had better be damn sure they know the truth. FarmerOak just likes talking out of his ass and being an asshole.
As much as I try, I cannot imagine what could possess someone to be so rude to those who work hard to keep this place available to all of us. It just is so far from what I consider rational and polite behavior that it truly boggles me. Is he trying to piss people off for no good reason? Was he raised by wolves? Is his head so far up his ass that he gargles with his own stomache acid?
Rhetorical questions? Or directed specifically at the Farmer?

I used to think Farmer was a pretty entertaining guy and like his attitude (in the beginning). Sadly, the more he opens his virtual mouth, the more he just resembles yet another whining crybaby.
