And the prize for the most offensive and twisted analogy of 2004 goes to...

State Representative Cynthia Davis of Missouri, who recently compared U.S. liberals to the 9/11 hijackers:

Congratulations, Rep. Davis! By comparing the teaching of safe sex and evolution to horrific acts of terrorism, you’ve made an invaluable contribution toward the ongoing Talibanization of this great country of ours.

And in the words of our Vice President, allow me to invite you to go fuck yourself.

Fucking bitch.

When will these fundie morons realize that the understanding of gene frequency shifts in populations is not a theological question? Science is not pro=God or anti-God–it has nothing to do with God whatsoever. Relgion and science should imitate Crow T Robot and Tom Servo by playing sea lion and squirrel.

I gotta tell ya, my heart swells with pride to live in this state, with these shining beacons of humanity. Won’t find good human beings like her in Yurp, no sirree!

The sad thing is, when she says, “These are [dumbass, ignorant] ideas from the people I represent, and I’d be very surprised if a majority of legislators didn’t feel they were the right solutions to these problems,” I wouldn’t be surprised if she was right.

Damn straight. Especially if where you want to go is back into the dark ages.

Stupid cunt.

I should apologize for my “stupid cunt” comment. I in no way intended to compare Rep. Davis to a warm, desirable, lovely organ. My comparison is an insult to cunts everywhere.

The fact that she is taking the country “back” and that other people will feel their country is being “hijacked” doesn’t seem to bother her…

Stupid… stupid… Good luck “liberals”…

I contend that it is in fact people like Rep. Davis taking my country somewhere it doesn’t want to go, and the proof, in part, will be when her idiotic bills get voted down in the state legislature.

I mean, they haven’t got any serious chance of passing, do they?

(shudder)

9/11 is the secret code… you say 9/11 and any budget you want will be approved… you keep repeating 9/11 and know one will doubt your patriotism… you say remember 9/11 and anything is justified… sad…

And anyone who says, “Women should run the country, they wouldn’t make as big a mess of it as the men have,” should look to Cynthia Davis and hang their head in shame.

Like this ditty from the [url=]NAACP’s Julian Bond 6/2/04

Not bolding his, cuz it’s doesn’t deserve it. (Granted, Bond isn’t some misguided, two-bit state-level politician, he’s only a spokesman for one of the oldest civil rights groups in the country)

A…very…uncomforable place?

I don’t post here often enough for my opinion to mean much to any of you I suppose, but it hacks me off to no end that if I don’t buy into evolution I am automatically backward and intellectually challanged.

I am curious how many folks in this thread calling people ‘fundies’ and claiming evolution is scientifically the only solution that should be presented have done any indepth research on this topic. I’m not talking the stuff you get in high school or college, I am talking actual in depth, checking all sides of the story and verifying sources, research.

This is a theory, with all the holes and flaws and problems of any other theory, and yet for some reason its policitally incorrect to even suggest it might not be the right answer. So we shove it down our kids throats and they come out of school just like the posters here… convinved its right without even have been exposed to any of its flaws or problems. And if someone says ‘Maybe we shouldn’t be treating this as the pure gem of truth we act like it is’ they’re automtically a, how was it phrased? Ah yes. A fundie moron.

I am not saying it is right for the congresswoman to use the comparision she did. It’s idiotic to compare 9/11 to such things. I’ll even go so far as to say teaching abesinence only in public school is niave and misguided. But I am not a dumbass, moron, and ignorant just because I don’t buy into something as ridiculous as evolution.

Must be a graduate of the Ann Coulter School of Dignified Speaking.

Yes, many many many people here have done an enormous amount of research on evolution, and truly know what they’re talking about. How much have you done?

I’ll admit, I never really bothered to learn the anti-evolution’s reasons for their stance. Why is it ridiculous?

You do not understand the definition of the word “theory” when used in scientific context. Dumbass.

You don’t believe that the posters here have “been exposed to any of [evolution]'s flaws”. Oh yes they have. Moron.

Evolution is not any more ridiculous than chemistry. It’s as though you believe that it is “magic” that makes bubbles when you mix baking soda with vinegar. Have fun with that and your Big Sky Daddy. Ignorant.

Actually, the membership of the boards contains several evolutionary biologists, and evolution v. creationism is one of the most frequently debated topics 'round here. Do a search in GD sometime. There’re about 500,000 threads on the topic, where both sides of the debate are dissected down to the minutest detail. You will probably not agree with their conclusions, but there’s absolutely no way you can claim that the evolutionists on this board are not well-informed. Most of 'em probably know more about creation “science” than you do.

Nice apology. Stupid or not, cunts could possibly be the evidence I need to believe that a creator exists…
