And Vivek is out

A lot of Republicans would say they’d vote for a MAGA spouting person of color in theory. But would then find a reason not to actually vote for them.

“I didn’t not vote for Ramaswamy because of his skin color. I didn’t vote for him because … ummm … because his brother-in-law drives a foreign made car. Yeah, that’s an important principle to me that I had to take a stand on. It had nothing to do with racism. Just like the reasons I didn’t vote for Tim Scott, Larry Elder, Ben Carson, Bobby Jindal, Herman Cain, and Alan Keyes had nothing to do with racism.”

I don’t think they’d have to work too hard to come up with a rationale. “I liked the other guy better” works just fine. The other guy, who is nice and white.

That’s how I got in sometime around 1981. However, I did it to perform a job Canadians were not willing to do. I actually got turned back once at the bridge because they suspected (correctly) I was working illegally in Ontario. In those days, I just had to go to the next bridge (tunnel?) to sneak in.

I think if Canada wants a wall, they should pay for it.

AFAIK, we don’t (at least not more than a handful).

I agree Canada should pay for it. My parents came with me to Canada legally with passport and documents via driving from Detroit to Windsor in 2005 when I was 12 because of the free healthcare which our taxes pays for it.
