And … we’re sheltering in place …

Bombers get a 55 yd fieldgoal; 20-18.

I got the alert on my phone earlier today, after they expanded it to Alberta and Manitoba. A couple of friends went to the Riders game in Regina, so I hope they had a good and safe time.

You and your family stay safe too, Northern Piper!

Thanks, Spoons. Everything fine here.

Except that Cody just threw an interception, and that was that.

Bombers have now qualified for the playoffs, two months before end of season.

I thought it was 25 - 0 at the moment.

I just hope they’re caught before they harm anyone else.

The Sask cell phone alert just sent out a message that one of them has been found dead. The other has not been found but may be injured.

Specifically found dead outside a house at James Smith Cree Nation with wounds described as not self-inflicted. One of the victims fought back somewhat effectively it would seem.

The one who is still being sought is the one who’s been wanted since May for skipping out on his parole associated with a five-year sentence for assault, robbery, and other criminal convictions.

I’ve been following this case with interest (am in the US). At first, reports seemed to indicate that nobody knew anything about the suspects, even though their pictures looked like mug shots, and they had the same last name.

Now that one of the brothers is dead and the other possibly injured…did they have a fight with each other? The last news I heard said that some of the victims may have been targeted and others random.

Minor correction: he was out on statutory release, not parole. I.e., it was an automatic release date, based on time served without notable incidents, not a discretionary decision by the parole board.

My understanding from an earlier CBC article is that police started looking for him when he failed to report to his parole officer. So yes, though it wasn’t technically “parole”, it was still release under supervision, if my understanding is correct.

Yes, because he hadn’t served the full sentence, so release under conditions, but automatic release at that stage in his sentence.

Further information has come out. Earlier today they said he was out on stat release, but now it appears he got stat release last fall, broke conditions and got jugged, and then got released by the parole board this spring.

Media inquiries must be pretty intense over a long weekend, and Corrections Canada has to respond on the fly.

This has got to be the wildest rampage to strike Canada since the Sizzler Sisters broke loose.

I thought all Canadians were nice.
I give you;

@wolfpup.
@Northern_Piper
@Spoons

And more…

I’m now under disillusinment.

:exploding_head:

Seriously y’all be careful. I worry so.

Any more updates on this case?

They had reduced the province-wide warning at noon today, because the RCMP had information that the surviving guy had been sighted back where things started. But around 4 pm the province-wide warning was re-triggered on our cell phones, because it was either a false sighting, or the guy had got out of the area.

There are starting to be stories of some of the killings, but I don’t know if they are rumours or how reliable. Some accounts of door-kicking home invasions with stabbings. One account of how an EMS first responder was called to one of the first sites, and was killed when she got there. Police are saying some of the killings appeared to have been targeted, and others were at random.

Premier has announced that flags at all government buildings are to be half-masted for two weeks, one day for each deceased victim.

I don’t think many people in Saskatchewan would find humour in the situation.

I’ve been side-eyeing black Nissan Rogues here in the Edmonton area.

Most are white, though, so any other color tends to stick out.

I can’t imagine how distressing it must be for that community.

Stay safe, Saskadopers.
