Android Phone Google site madness

I have a Galaxy S24 Ultra. Use Firefox. Current release updated.

There are a small number of sites- perfectly valid sites- that can load but then do NOT let me scroll down or up at all.

Two are payroll web portals. Everyone else on the crew can do their timecard at work on their phones. Not me.

Now I’ve hit a regular web site that has the same issue.

Anyone else encounter this issue with an Android phone, with the S24 Ultra, etc? Got a workaround??

I’ve also read about trouble accessing Google Maps with that model. Do you need to use Firefox for your timecard? I use Duck Duck Go as my browser on my 24 Ultra without encountering website issues, including accessing your privy.nyc link above.

I’ve considered DuckDuckGo. Pros and Cons?
I’ve also poked at it for my Mac. Tried it once, wasn’t thrilled- but that could well have just been “Change Bad !!!” Syndrome.

I don’t like their Maps. Other than that, I haven’t had trouble with Duck Duck Go. It purports not to track you.

Fascinating. Am I forced away from Google Maps if I use Duck Duck Go as my browser?

It’s a bit of a long shot, but going to enabling Settings > Accessbility > Zoom on all Websites could possibly help.

And the main downside I can think of is DDG doesn’t allow extensions. I don’t believe it has full built-in adblock, either.

No, you can just put Google’s URL in, or the Google Maps URL (or use the Google Maps app).

Do you have any ad blocker or privacy/cookie blocking extensions in Firefox? Sometimes they will incompletely block a cookie popup, hiding it but not getting rid of the scroll-blocking layer, which causes the webpage to appear frozen.

Do you have examples of some of the other sites that don’t work? Are they all map-based sites?
