Android question

I traded in my Blackberry for an Android phone yesterday. It’s powerful, and I rather like it. Setting up my email wasn’t as easy as it was on the Blackberry, but it works now. I just had to remember my smtp server address and password.

I do have a major problem with it. I cannot accept Meeting requests and calendar entries from Outlook and I do not seem to be able to send out meeting requests from its calendar. If I cannot integrate my smartphone calendar with my outlook, and my wife’s Blackberry (which she needs for work), this will be a deal breaker. I would have to go back to Blackberry.

Would anyone know how to get my Android to accept Outlook and Blackberry meeting requests?

Google “Droid x forum.” Even if you don’t have a Droid X, you will find a lot of info there.

Try downloading a different callender. Callender Pad is a good one, but I’m not sure if it will do what you want. There are many free callenders availabe from the droid apps store. There are many for sale also, and they tend to be more advanced!

You’ve got a Google account associated with the phone? Use Google calendar
It handles appointments in the same way as, and compatibly with outlook/exchange.

And if you do this, your wife can sync her blackberry to that account with

If you’re connecting to an Exchange server Touchdown is the way to go.
