RIP Lorne
Dear me.
Wow, that really sucks. I’m getting to the end of season 3 of Angel.
I was pretty annoyed with the Lorne character when he was first introduced. But, 4 or 5 episodes with him, he really grew on me. Now, he’s one of my favorite characters. I would have really like to see him in other things as well.
And Doyle too? I was half expecting to see him again as the show progressed. Shit.
You’re almost two seasons ahead of me! I’ll watch 4-6 eps tonight to catch up.
I haven’t got him yet, but I don’t dislike him. And I thought Angel singing Manilow was going to be a cheap laugh, but it was actually kind of poignant - “I thinks it’s pretty”.
Absolutely, it’s not like death has to be permanent in the Buffy universe.
Not like our world . . .
Am I right in understanding his Wikipedia page to say that his heart problems resulted from a tooth infection?
Glenn Quinn died of a herion overdose. Whedon has always been very careful to say nothing bad about Quinn at the time or after. Many have speculated that his personal problems got him written out of the show. I believe Whedon has always maintained that he planned it that way. I have my doubts.
It’s a damn shame about Andy Hallet. The character grew on me and I checked every now and then to see if he was doing anything else.
Could be – the tooth infection can lead to endocarditis, and there seems to be some evidence that they can also cause increased clotting.
I liked Lorne on the show a lot. He kept things light. Sorry to hear he’s gone.
No longer do the dance of joy Numfar.
Well, if there is any karmic justice to all this, maybe the fact that Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof just brought a new life into the world kinda balances things out…
How sad! His role on *Angel *was always delightful.
The restroom is at the other end of the hall, 5-HT. It’s not necessary to defecate in here.
I liked Lorne and am saddened to hear of Andy Hallett’s death. I too wondered why he was not acting more since Angel.
The interesting thing about Lorne was that, despite the character’s strange appearance, he was the most normal, the most like a regular person, of the ensemble. He was the regular guy who happened to be green.
IIRC, Hallett never acted on TV before taking the role. He sung in a stage revue and was noticed by Joss Whedon, who based Lorne on him.
Sort of. His only TV appearance before Lorne was as an extra in one of Professor Walsh’s lectures during the fourth season of Buffy.

I can’t believe it.
I’m as sad as when I learned the doctor on B5 had died(we were watching that at the time).
With the exception of Life According to Jim.
Yep, he’s in the episode, “Hush”, the one where they all lose their voices.
