I must have missed the first minute or so of the episode… can someone fill me in on what happened with Gunn and his “mental hiccup”?
What did Prince of Lies (I love that name!) say as he was going off on the Nazi? Did I totally hallucinate or did he imply he was Jewish?
Overall, a very good episode.
I agree. I feel the same way about it as I did before BtVS’s “Once More With Feeling”… I usually hate musicals, but god that was a great episode. This one could go either way too.
I thought that for a second, too, but he’s just pissed because he read the Nazi’s plan to cut open his skull and put electrodes in his brain. He accuses them of something like trying to “desecrate the temple of [his] body,” which is what threw me at first.
I really disliked this episode. Not season 6 Buffy disliked it or anything, but I was really bored throughout most of it. Blah blah blah, submarine, blah blah blah Angel doesn’t know what he’s doing in life, blah blah blah Spike (who I actually didn’t dislike that much in the flashbacks, oddly).
The episode was largely redeemed for me by Prince of Lies. Why did Angel have to go and stake him? He should be working at W&H now.
Ah. Okay, that’s what I thought everyone was referring to, but when it was asked as Knox rather than “Holden ‘Webs’ Webster” I got confused.
Started thinking that Spike had chomped on Knox. Especially 'cause I haven’t seen Knox with any screen time lately.

I thought the episode was pretty good. Not great, but not bad either. Although Spike with black hair just doesn’t work for me. Also, I kept hoping he’d eat Fritz.
I loved Prince of Lies. Intelligent, literate, poetic way of speaking, and about one step removed from Uruk-hai, er, I mean Turok-han. It’s too bad he got all dusty. He would have made a cool recurring villian.
And was it my imagination, or did Spike call Angel a dick just before Angel sent him off into the ocean?
