Angela Lansbury and Prof Slughorn rumored to be cast in Game of Thrones. [Book theories welcomed]

Jim Broadbent isn’t so surprising but I wonder who Angela will play.

I’m trying to think of old ladies introduced in the last two books, but it has been a while since I’ve read them and they are all jumbled up with the TV show in my head. Then again, it could be a totally made up character. As for Broadbent, I’ve heard that he could be in a flashback playing Mad King Aerys. I’m more inclined to think he’ll be playing a Maester, maybe helping Samwell be not so boring.

Anyone else have theories on this?

The show is past the books, so there’s no telling who she might be playing.

I hope they stick with David Rintoul.

So it seems. It’s certainly past where I’ve read, but yet there’s stuff I read that still hasn’t happened in the show, like Catelyn not staying dead.

Angela Lansbury? Well, there area suspicious number of murders in King’s Landing, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising to find Lady Jessica of Fletcher hanging around there somewhere.

The rumor I’ve heard most for Broadbent is Archmaester Marwyn.

And I think the rumor about Lansbury has been denied.

My WAG: Lansbury will portray the High Sparrow’s mom, Mama Sparrow, who is really pissed and looking for whoever burnt up her little boy.

Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer will guest star as their characters Aibileen and Minnie from The Help, who having fallen through a rip in the fabric of timespace (no harder to believe than dragons, really) goes to work as maids in Westeros. Aibileen will assure Jamie and Cersei’s new baby Tywin “Little Man” Lannister-Lannister that “You is kind, you is important, and you must stop struggling so that I bring this dynasty to an end”, while Minnie brings a special “dragon dumpling pie” when she calls on Sansa.

Looks like this might not be happening afterall.

I imagine there are many stars who would love a cameo on the show.

Angela Lansbury can’t be on Game of Thrones. The body count is already high enough as it is.
