Angry Donald tweets on Android; Campaign Donald on iPhone

Interesting article: a data geek analysed the RealDonaldTrump tweets and concludes that there are two different sets of posts, one from an Android and one from an iPhone.

The Android posts are early in the morning and tend to use angry language: “badly”, “crazy”, “weak”, “strong”. Also uses a lot of cut and paste and not many pictures or hashtags, possibly the sign of someone not really familiar with Twitter technology.

The iPhone posts tend to be more neutral or upbeat (“Thanks to all who came to the rally”) or more announcement oriented, use more hashtags and less cut and paste, and tend to come in the afternoon.

Conclusion: The Real Donald Trump uses the Android, and the Donald Trump staffers use the iPhone.

Text analysis of Trump’s tweets confirms he writes only the (angrier) Android half

I mentioned this over in the Donald’s General Election thread. It’s an interesting analysis. The guy who wrote the article, David Robinson, is a data researcher for Stack Overflow.

One of the things I found interesting was the reference to some tweets made on the iPhone that matched Angry Donald’s posting style. Did his battery run out now and then and he borrowed someone’s iPhone? Or, there a staffer who can channel Angry Donald and post in the angry style?
