Animals I Have Eaten.

Well, no one has said “emu” yet, so at least I have that on ya…and you’ve got that list with so many fish varieties, and you didn’t list “catfish”?

I can add:

iguana
cuy (guinea pig)

Now, if we want to delve into “*parts of * animals I have eaten,” I might be able to make a good showing.

This post gives me a taste for a nice fillet of Clownfish…

Mountain Oysters

My current culinary goal is to eat llama.

My list is pretty dull -
cow, pig, chicken, grouse, goose, duck, quail, pheasant, bear, mule deer, pronghorn, wapiti, moose, some kind of wild sheep, snails, anything available at Red Lobster, freshwater fish found in Colorado or Wyoming, bunnies, caviar (which is not really an animal, I guess), crawdads, rattlesnake, crocodile, buffalo, ostrich.

I’d go out of my way to avoid ostrich, it tasted like sweat (might have got a bad one, but I don’t care to try again), snails are just a delivery mechanism for garlic butter, goose and duck didn’t impress me, but they aren’t bad, caviar was too salty. The rest I’d eat again without a second thought.

I submit we’ve all dabbled in cannibalism - who hasn’t ingested some fluids from another human being? Why quibble at a bite of human steak when we’ve all drunk the juice?

I have to go make lunch now.

Thanks for pointing that out. Are sure secretions count?

bcause I’m a bit of a fool, I completely forgot catfish. :smack:

so…
In response to Mangetout’s spoiler box, I have to admit it:

Yes, I’ve eaten women.

They said they liked it too. No, really…! They could have been faking it, but knees quivering on my shoulders is generally a good sign.

Spoiler box maintained so as not to corrupt the minds of the innocent…
Can we have the list with all fish compressed into a single “fish”?

That I don’t see on the list:

capybara
Lapa
Danta
Bat
Possum

The last two are just nasty

What is milk (and, by derivation, cheese, butter, ice cream and yogurt) if not secretions?

Hey, I’ve had dog and cobra, both in Viet Nam. Plus:

Camel
Kangaroo
Guinea Pig
Alligator
Bear
Zebra
Wildebeest
Crocodile
Ostrich
Llama
Probably 3 types of antelope.

And your usual invertebrates in a sushi restaurant.

I would some day love to be able to say:

“Wildebeast? meh, tastes like llama.”

I eaten many not listed and a couple not listed. I have tried horse meat on a couple of occasions and rather enjoyed it. While in the scouts we trapped a crow and decided to BBQ it. Yuk.

Never eaten: bird’s nest soup? Blood (“black”) pudding (aka “boudin”).

I’ll add Water Moccasin snake.
And I’ll second Possum=bad.

Oh! Forgot… Hummingbird eggs.

The first time I read this I thought you had written your scout troop had trapped a cow and decided to BBQ it. Which would just be beef but was still an arresting image.
