Ann Coulter...Why??

Why do I get myself into this shit?

She’s a counterbalance to the Dershowitzs and Sharptons and even the Krugmans of the left.

Her research is fairly careful, and complete and I stand behind my earlier statement, re: Slander.

The main task of the book is to catalog lies and misrepresentations perpetrated by the the left. Most of what I’ve seen thrown up to refute her has nothing to do with that, but rather her tangential rants, and love affair with Reagan/Bush et al.

Honest Conservative commentators like George Will, and William F. Buckley who are willing to be openly critical about about their party and their leaders just seem to be steadfastly ignored by the mainstream and the left.

Where do yo think Anne gets her shit anyway?

Um, is this heroin joke another cruel reference to the fact that Ann’s skinny as a junkie?

Leave the poor thing alone, Scylla!!

(You keep lobbing those straightlines, we’ll keep smacking 'em over the fence.)

Ann gets her shit from her internal factory – and her genetically modified salivary glands.

Here’s what Jonathan Alterman has to say on Anthrax, and I couldn’t agree more:

Isn’t that like saying that Gene Ray is a counterbalance to Jack Chick?

Ace:

That quote of yours seems to me about as hateful, extreme, and reactionary as Coulter is accused of being.

Whatever you say, January. Have you been wandering around without your tinfoil hat again?

Nyahhh. I’ve been here all day fucking your Mom, why do you ask?

I’m almost sorry I started this thread now. It’s gone from heated debate to schoolyard bullying. Dangers of the Pit, I suppose, but, Ace, I’ve heard more mature arguments from middle-schoolers. Proving that Coulter is a prejudiced, raving lunatic by being one yourself just doesn’t work. Thanks for the link you posted earlier, but you’re malice just isn’t helping.

I apologize for my comment.

I don’t like being called names or belittled for no reason. I thought to throw it back in the ultimate expression of childish insults, to show its inappropriateness.

But it’s still innapropriate of me.

I’m better than that. Not by much, but a little bit.

How about this? Each side picks out one argument that Ann “love of my life” Coulter has made as an example of greatness of either logic or sophistry, and then the other side comments? Till then, ride her like a bomb all the way to Moscow!

If Coulter is joking when she says that liberals aren’t real Americans, then she’s showing poor judgment and insensitivity to others. If she isn’t joking, then SHE isn’t a real American, because it means she doesn’t believe that every citizen is entitled to free speech.

Anne does the hysterical white chick schtick really well. Of course she knows better - she graduated from Cornell and Michigan law school, and is quite capable of rational discourse. But rational discourse doesn’t sell. Hysteria sells. That, and really, really short skirts. She’ll ride it for as long as it lasts, and then it’ll be “Anne who?”

Shortly after she passes forty she’ll hook up with an aging right wing billionaire, and start living the To the Manor Born life she’s always dreamt of.

She isn’t joking. Liberals aren’t real Americans, they are pinko softie bleeding hearts who put their own twisted ideas of justice in place of good business judgment. Like the great conservative Calvin Coolidge, I firmly believe that what is good for General Motors and other big corporations, is good for America. And those who believe otherwise, like lil’ Annie says, should be put in fear for their lives by the lethal injections of people like John Walker Lindh so that they shut up and go home.

I’m hoping that was satire.

The way I figure it, if Taggert meant that as satire, then it’s plenty funny and I don’t think I can top it. If Taggert was serious, then he or she is a moron and isn’t worth responding to. I’ll figure it out after he or she posts more. For now, I have something to add to my shtick I use when making fun of nutball conservatives. That’s good stuff.

But for what it’s worth, it was Dwight Eisenhower who held that what’s good for General Motors is good for America. (I don’t think he actually said that, but his administration certainly acted in step with that belief.) I think the Coolidge quote that Taggert is looking for is “The business of America is business.”

Taggert: is your name an Ayn Rand reference?

I hate to bag on anyones looks, even if they are pure evil, but how can anyone say that Ann Coulter is attractive in any way, shape or form? She is far too skinny, and has an insectoid appearance- I’m sure she doesn’t actually have an exoskeleton, but she sure ass hell appears to. She is a brittle, skanky ho with morally repugnant views.

I’ll bet she’s frigid too. With smoker’s breath and teeth.

God! I think Chance hit on it.

Ayn Rand! Of course!

See, here’s the thing…Ayn Rand gets an injection of monkey glands, fakes her death, goes into hiding and comes out later as Ann Coulter!

Or the undead walk amongst us, and she still feeds on socially inept undergraduates, draining thier blood in the night (and perhaps other bodily fluids as gender permits), dooming thier drained husks to the Young Americans for Freedom, and using thier stolen vitality to keep the corpse typing, typing, typing…

::Ahem::

I came into this thinking Ann Coulter was a little bit nutty and outlandish (but not anything unusual for a pundit.) I’d read her two books, and thought them worth reading, and a couple of her columns.

I enjoyed her writing, thought she sometimes made some good points, and you know what? Her legs are cute.

However, after reading this thread, I’ve examined her columns more carefully, reviewed her fall out with the National review, and what have you.

My opinion has changed thanks to this thread.

I still think she says some interesting things, and makes some interesting points, and as a whole I think her research as it applies to specific points is pretty good.

On the other hand, she is really truly an evil, hateful, egotistical, nut isn’t she?

I know she lost a friend on Sept 11. Because of that I can forgive and understand her column of the 12th.

What’s despicable to me is that she seems to be using that as a deliberate license to consistently spew hate about arabs.

Political stuff is fair game, that’s just evil.

Ayn Rand was a goddess! And taggert is a baby t. You’ll have to look at my signature (assuming I can get it to work right) to figure out where it came from.

As for satire, what is satirical about it? It’s called “moral clarity”. All those without “moral clarity”, get 'em up against The Wall. (Was Roger Waters being satirical, or “morally clear”.)

It’s a New World Order. You are with us or against us. Those against us belong to the Axis of Evil. (I do hope I’m in the right forum.) They are Evil Doers. The problem with the French is that they have no word for entrepreneur. This is fully vetted. Are you?
