A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? Yes/No
The computer slogs for a while after I choose either “yes” or “no”, and it keeps popping up just about every time I run a new IE window.
What is the problem here, and how do I make it go away?
The problem is that some browser embedded script (usual suspects are Javascript and/or Flash) are either going into an infinite loop or just taking a monumentally long time to process something (I would guess the first).
I would always suggest clicking ‘Yes’ and then trying to reload the page.
You say that this happens lots. If it is happening regardless of the site that you go to I would do a scan for adware, spyware.
There are plenty of threads on the board already that will tell you the best software to use for this (search for AdAware and SpyBot).
