Many years ago, I cut the head off of my sister’s Snoopy doll, drew a grid over his head, and stuck in a heap of pins so that he resembled Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies. Most years he gets the top spot on the tree. He’s not up this year because I can’t find him. Christmas just won’t feel right without him.
I would have put it under “I can’t get anything to stay up there”.
Last year I pulled out the usual angel (some young blonde woman with a fur trimmed gown and holding a stringed instrument) and saw the wings had broken off. So I said it was Taylor Swift and put her on the tree anyway. She might make it up there again this year.
A big shiny silver bow. The top of my tree is too flimsy to support anything that weighs more than a couple ounces.
We have a plush Super Mario star on ours. We always used to have Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo, but then one of my kids got offended.
That’s even better than Mr Hankey!
Nothin’ at all. Actually having a christmas tree is something of a new thing for me, so the acquiring of ornaments is a work in progress. Topper is a rather low priority.
A spike ,so “other”.
A really pathetic star that everytime I take it out of the christmas stuff box I think that I’ll throw it away before next year, but never seem to.
Bob
He’s on top of our tree too!
A George Beatle doll.
Since I’ve done my own trees, it’s always been an angel. For the first few years it was a pretty simple one made out of some type of corn husk type material and yarn (it was gorgeous - I am just not explaining it right) but since that one bit the dust (I don’t remember why), it’s been a fairly victorian type angel with very elaborate wings and a white frilly dress with some ribbons woven through it.
Think he’ll ever be promoted to pope?
Our topper is an angel. Odd tradition, that, when you think about it.
A star my son made in Sunday school: white cardboard with gold glitter.
Growing up it was a glass pointy thing like a spire. With my ex-wife it was an angel. Now we have a glass star that lights up. So my vote was star.
My family have always traditionally put an owl at the top. I like the tradition.
That’s great. if we ever do a tree again, I’m going with an Owl. Owls are cool
We have a Christmas Moose on top of our tree. It is a floppy stuff animal.
A porcelain angel with a red velvet dress and golden net ribbons flying off in every direction. She’s my favorite decoration.
Is it a girl? Is her name Mary? Mary ChristMoose. Do you ever reposition her? Vary Mary ChristMoose.
Sad to say, Mr. Moose is a he. But he does get moved around a bit from year to year. But now I would like to find a female stuffed moose.
