After buying our house this year, we’re in extremely dire financial circumstances which preclude us from decorating for the holidays. So knowing that Dopers are a happy and obliging bunch to share pictures, I thought perhaps I (and others) could get the ol’ jones satiated by looking at your trees instead.
Y’all wanna help out the tree-challenged then? If so, post your best or funniest or most Charlie Brown-ish efforts forward. The angels will reward you.
I’ll post when it’s dark and I can take proper pictures. We have an outside (real) tree this year, as well as our usual inside fake tree. I’m allergic to the real ones, and my husband loves them.
Oooooooooooooooh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! So shiny and pretty!! I especially like all the tree toppers and the kindergarten banner. So very, cery cool. Thanks for sharing you guys!
The stars are very easy, if you go by Village Beads in Ridgeland and get some pre-made wire thingys. Otherwise you have to make your own with wire from Michael’s. Don’t get your beads at VB though! (They’re VERY proud of their stuff). Get your beads from Michael’s. The only other thing you need is a pair of needle-nose pliers, to turn down the ends. It is great fun for kids.
Icerigger: That is awesome. I think some blue shiny paper would work too.
Here’s my tree! The naked bottom third of the tree is thanks tothese guys. I also have to be sure to buy shatterproof ornaments and anchor the tree to a wall. Somehow my little Horton managed to get tangled up in a low section of lights and ran off scared, ripping about 6 feet of light strand from the bottom of the tree. Sigh.
I have a lot of special ornaments on my tree and I’d love to post pictures of them, but it’s hard to keep the camera steady enough for them to really show up well. I"ll work on it.
This is one of my most precious possessions. I got it a few years ago when a friend and I visited an elementary school to take part in their international day festival.
