Our baby boy #3 arrived on Monday morning after a fast and furious 5 1/2 hour labor. I felt the first contractions just after midnight and his official time of delivery was 5:38 AM; 8lb 1oz, 20 1/2 inches long. We didn’t get to the hospital until after 3:00 AM, so I’m glad we didn’t wait any longer at home. No time for drugs, which was good, because although I was begging for them by the end I really wanted to go without. No complications for either one of us, other than he’s a little sneezy because I didn’t push for long and his lungs didn’t get cleared out very well. Our other two boys had elevated bilirubin levels upon discharge but we were fortunate this time - no need for a light or anything (our 2nd ended up in the NICU for almost three days).
