Another Mass Shooting (San Bernardino)

Right after you say

, you post a wild rumor like

:confused::confused:

The no-fly list is supposedly people who are some sort of risk to aviation and thus not allowed to fly in or to the U.S.

Theoretically, it would make some sense that if they’re that much of a risk, they shouldn’t be allowed to buy guns.

I doubt it would make any difference if that was enforced.

ETA: It also points up the fact that parts of security in this country is a joke.

News conference scheduled for 4:45pm PST. Looks like at this point two suspects are “dealt with” (their words) and one is still on the loose in a neighborhood I sorta know.

I was a bit concerned about the dog in the yard. Thankfully his human was able to get a lead on him and take him away from the big police presence.

This is reminding me of the search after the Boston bombing. Shutting down the city going house to house.

L.A. Times reporting that one man angrily left the DPH party shortly before the attack. Speculation is that he returned with accomplices and opened fire.

I heard the three men were wearing armor. Certainly sounds planned to me.

I’m thinking this is ISIS. They want us to be afraid of going out to a cafe or a concert or even a work related banquet.

It’s a fairly small group, but they sure did some damage. At least 14 dead and 17 more injured is the last figure I’ve heard.

How do you fight this? The enemy isn’t wearing a uniform.
Edit: Posted before I saw the post by Hamster King. This just makes no sense. How do you get two friends to help you with something like this on a spur of the moment?

Oh give me a fucking break.

Odds are that you’re completely wrong. But it’s early - nothing is really known at this point.

Turns out I know one of the cops involved in the shootout with the SUV. He’s fine, but his car is toast. But in his words: “Theirs is worse.”

My God! If they can strike at the office Christmas party of the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health, who among us is safe?

Seriously, there are like 10,000 targets in the L.A. area that would be more attractive to an international terrorist. This is someone who had a beef with the DPH.

Good update!

Now police are going house-to-house in the neighborhood where the 3rd gunman apparently escaped.

Take care and keep yourself and the kids safe, silenus. And that quote’s an interesting variaton on “you shoulda seen the other fellow”.

The phrase that keeps being repeated is “they came prepared”. Can mean armor but if relying on layperson witnesses it could generaly mean they were visibly wearing any sort of extra gear (spare magazines and weapons) and masks

Yes, the profilers being interviewed were saying that having three people show up, well equipped and well timed to hit and run, is not what you expect to see in a “guy goes over the edge” case, because it’s not that easy to get multiple people to join in on a murder plan unless they all share a motivation.

Anti-government types or Sovereign Citizen/Free-man-On-The-Land types going off the deep-end and signing out in a blaze of glory perhaps?

Just a reminder, this post has already saidtake any gun or political debate to the Pit or GB. This topic is just about updates, discussion of the incident itself, and that sort of thing.

Just saw another tweet from the L.A. Times: The Feds are theorizing that one gunman was at the party to verify a particular target was present. Then he returned with accomplices.

Any specifics on the victims yet? It would seem like they would have had time to notify next of kin for most of them.

Organized crime type deal, you think?

Why organized crime? Anti-vaccers is a more likely possibility than that–doesn’t the Department of Public Health run vaccination programs?

Antivaxers are obnoxious, but I would be really surprised if they turned to terrorism.

Lol…the speculative posts here are insane. Remember that this happened in San Bernardino. Think on a far more personal level.
