LD-6: “All right, here’s one you may well know, you may not know it. And if you don’t know it, I really don’t know where you’ve been.”
Wow - I never expected this one to be a stumper, so I’ll give some hints: The album it’s from was released in 1971. It’s the intro to one of the two live cuts on the album. It’s a British superstar covering a song by another British superstar. Does that help?
No, but it sure makes me feel dumb for not knowing the answer–sounds like it ought to be something right up my alley.
Mind you, I didn’t expect to stump the board with a Beatles track!
Ok, here’s my easy contribution to this thread:
goss1: In the constellation of Cygnus there lurks a mysterious, invisible force.
It IS right up your alley, Biffy! Here’s another hint: You are SO close with your quoted post!
BMU-1: God told me to skin you alive
BMU-2: How bout you just drop them pants? Drop? Just take em right off. Now SQUEAL!.. (i know it’s taken from Deliverance)
BMU-3: Are you ready Jesus? Uh huh. Buddha? Yeah. Mohammed? Well alright fellas, let’s go!
BMU-4: Dressed in clothes, from her head to her toes, this is the way, the talking part goes
BMU-5: Who is it? Yeah, yeah Ok Let him in (this one is really quiet i’ll be surprised if you get it.)
BMU-1 is the Dead Kennedys - Funland at the Beach, maybe?
Right band wrong song.
MrDibble got “Supernaut” right for my MR2.
MR4: “Somewhere in space this may all be happening right now.”
(Hint: From a side project album featuring a famous DJ and many, many collaboraters, including a Thomist fellow.)
Ha ha, I thought about putting this one in, but didn’t think anybody would get it. It’s “Beers, Steers and Queers” by the Revolting Cocks. Now the remix of that song, there’s an intro.
That’s SEXXY by They Might Be Giants. But I think it’s “Dressed only in clothes…”
My contribution:
Tea-1: This is the house that funk built, XXXXXXXXX style! All right I’m checkin’ all y’all out this evenin’, and I see ya sittin’ round, and we ain’t gonna have none of that this evenin’ child!
Hmm. I haven’t heard it in ages, but could it be the Faces’ version of “Maybe I’m Amazed”?
yep, “brain dead f***er”
and i messed up – it’s “THAT scaffolding”
Groove Armada - The FatboySlim Mix of I See You Baby (Shakin that ass)

this is ‘guns blazing’ by UNKLE. off pysence fiction. that album rocks.
PB2: 'i eat too much to die, and not enough to stay alive…"
Biffy, my man! I KNEW you could do it!
its funny because i must of listened to ‘Bummed’ about a 1000 times since it came out, and i always thought Shaun Ryder said “you’ve read the midnight scaffolding dangerous!”
judging by the way most of his lyrics are pretty offbeat, i didnt think anything of it…
I keep thinking of more - unfortunately they’re all ancient, but then so am I.
LD-7: “We’d like to thank all of our beautiful friends all over the country for all the beautiful vibrations. We love you.”
MDI-1
“Just what is it that you want to do?
Well, we want to be free, we want to be free to do what we want to do and we want to get loaded, and we want to have a good time, and that’s what we’re gonna do.”
MDI-2 If you get this, then you must be as big a fan of a particular band as me
“You know there are 300 million people in the world who smoke marijuana?
There are more people who smoke marijuana than there are members of the American middle class.
There are more people who smoke marijuana than there are Americans.
There are 300 million people who use marijuana, that’s a majority.
There are more people who use marijuana than there are Protestants.
There’s almost as many as there are Christians.
100 times more people in the world use marijuana than there are Jews and Unitarians combined.
We’re a majority.”
JohnBckWld – Groove Armada as remixed by FBS is correct.
BambiH1: “This song is for anyone who has ever been dumped by someone they love. It’s called …”.
BambiH2: “5… 6… 7… 50.”
BambiH3: “This is one of your 10,000 dollar hours. Don’t forget to write it down. Help is on the way.”
BambiH4: “One day, I found a big book buried deep in the ground. I opened it, and all the pages were blank.”
