Another reason to avoid THQ videogames (and the x-box)

Apparently, THQ games and micro$oft have agreed to allow THQ to advertise to customers playing THQ branded x-box live games, stupid friggin’ advertisers, not everything is an advertising venue…

Fry’s quote in Futurama is getting more and more plausable all the time…

"Leela: “Didn’t you have ads in the 20th century?”
Fry: “Well sure, but not in our dreams! Only on tv and radio…and in magazines…and movies. And at ball games, on buses, and milk cartons, and t-shirts, and bananas, and written on the sky. But not in dreams! No sirree.”

screw you, advertisers, i’m not some mindless consuming drone…oh look, there’s a new <consumer device> out…

Avoid? That implies there’s something to attract in the first place. THQ’s business model seems to be snapping up popular kids related liscenses and using them to distract players from their clumsy, tedious, and derivative game design. Those folks got me once - used my Ren & Stimpy fandom to trick me into renting one of their games as a child. Never again. I read an article recently that THQ is upset with Nintendo and is threatening not develop games for the Revolution. Who the eff cares?!

Mmm. Man, I’m hunkering for some Lightspeed underpants, aren’t you?

That episode was just on tonight. How strange.
