Not sure if they have the complete season or not, as there are only 3 episodes streaming …
Sill, a wonderful series and I’m happy to see any new episodes.

Are they making an eighth season? There’s a listing for one in wikipedia, but I can’t find any official word, and I thought I heard Michael Kitchen was packing it in after season seven.
I was kinda digging their transforming it into a show about espionage in season seven, so I’m hoping we get another season of that.
Ooh! I didn’t even think there would be a new series. Thank you for the heads up! A lovely period piece and Michael Kitchen’s Foyle is a delight. Likeable and lowkey, always very gentlemanly, but there’s a definite prickly side to him that one doesn’t expect from Michael Kitchen characters.
And I really liked Sam, too. I miss whatshisname, Milner, though.
Yes, Simplico, there’s an eighth series (or ninth, according to this article… I have no idea what the real deal is) that’s been commissioned for 2015. And there are some *verrrry * interesting angles mentioned in that article.
The subject of IG Farben and industrialists who profited from the war, for example.
Great to know–thank you, Boyo Jim!
I liked him to, but it was always kind of distracting that the actor clearly forgot he was supposed to be an amputee after the first season. At one point he actually kicks a ner-do-well into a wall during a fight. Apparently WWII era prosthetics were incredible!
Thanks for the confirmation. I couldn’t find anything and was convinced wikipedia just had a stub article for a season that wasn’t going to happen. Something to look forward to.
I love Foyle’s War, but I don’t remember where we left off.
I think the war was ending, is that right or possible? Wait, Foyle quit! (I think; it was a while ago)
I can only speak to what has been shown on Neflix, which might be only a subset of what was originally broadcast on TV,
During the original run, Foyle quit and was coaxed back a couple of different times, IIRC. The end of the previous series had him leaving again, and boarding a ship to America,
The new episodes of Netflix show him getting off the ship that returns him to England. There are some references in the script as to what he did in America, but we never see him there.
He is recruited to work for MI-5, and through some convoluted means, reunited with Sam.
Any idea when this new series will be on PBS or BBC America or what have you?
I think Foyle’s War is easily one of the best TV shows I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch. Saw that the 3 new episodes were on, and my wife and I binged them in one night. Now I has sad!
I loved the original story line, and the new story line is awesome, too.
Ditto. I really wish they would make more. Not only is the acting good throughout, they are really good whodunnits as well.
This is probably a bizarre observation, but one thing that struck me is that the characters look like real, ordinary people. On too many TV shows, everyone is gorgeous, with the exception of the evil characters or the comedy relief, and they go to the other extreme with them. But on Foyle’s Law, all of the characters seem genuine and believable because they look like regular folks.
We were probably halfway thru the series on Netflix when this occurred to me. I don’t know what that says about me…
Go Sam! Foyle’s War is an amazing show, one of my favorite whodunnits. The acting’s very good, and the artistry in the filming is also great. I heard that Honeysuckle Weeks (actress for Sam) and Micheal Kitchen are actually close friends IRL, which probably adds to the show. (Also, I need to point out: Honeysuckle Weeks is an amazing name.)
Now that you mention it, you’re right - everyone’s not a beauty queen, which is a nice change from most shows.
A rather jarring reminder that Michael Kitchen is a British Boomer.
(Safe for everyone)
