Burn Notice 8/6: Season Finale!!

Last chance to get your Mikey/Sam/Fee/Madeline fix for the summer! Does Fee leave Miami? Does Michael get the chance to go back to work, but turn it down in the end? Will Sam ever drink anything non-alcoholic? Will Maddy come down with lung cancer?

9pm Eastern!!

Make that “mid-season” finale. Thanks for this awesome entertainment enhancement, USA Network.

Yeah, just to clarify, it’s just the summer finale, there are still new episodes to come later in the year.

I heard that they are going to take a look at Fiona’s family and her roots. That’s gonna be really cool because a lot of her backstory is really cloudy and we only have pieces of info at this point. This season’s been rocking it, I’m expecting I will watch repeats of this episode like 3 times.

So when does it return? January?

Yep, so says their Facebook news feed.

That was awesome.

That was pretty intense. I loved it. I’m also glad that the whole trying to unburn himself bullshit is being back burnered. I loved seeing Michael just take Strickler down like that. Is that the first person we have seen Michael straight up kill in the whole series? I like that he did it with minimal hesitation.

He needed killin’.

Memo to self: Do not mess with Fiona.

They needed to turn the series plot around; if he gets unburned, it’s I Spy or MCGiver 2009. If he doesn’t get unburned, it’s the same damn thing every week.

I believe they found a good compromise.

I sure did like Touching Evil.

He killed Victor on the boat last season.
I thought he was undecided about killing Strickler for several minutes. Strickler was monologing, something this series has usually been good about avoiding.

He killed the two guys in the pilot.

Maddy could never sell that house; it reeks of smoke. I can’t believe anybody could ever even walk in it without gagging. And I would so buy it, too! It’s gorgeous.

But off-screen, IIRC we only heard the sound of shots. Mike’s killed many people (like the theif last week) but usually in a less hands-on way than Strickler’s timley demise.

Shooting the guys in the bath room after beating them into unconsciousness is pretty hands on, even if off camera.

Mike typically doesn’t kill people that he doesn’t HAVE to kill, but he’s a very pragmatic person. If he needs to kill somenoe, they usually get killed.

Exactly. My theory is if he wants someone dead he lets that persons enemies do it for him. Why? Because then the death can’t be tied to Mike. The most that detective had on Mike earlier in the season were some explosions and not murders/mysterious deaths. By not killing people himself he can keep a low profile (as any spy should) He seems to only kill if it could be justifiable. For instance Strickler was pointing a gun at him and essentially imprisoning him. Not to mention contributing to the potential death of one of Mike’s friends. Victor was dead anyways. If Mike didn’t kill him Carla’s organization would have eventually. So it was more or less a mercy killing.

Not to mention, he didn’t really want to kill Victor. He felt bad about doing it, but gave in to the guy’s last wishes. Karla’s crew would not have been merciful about what they did to the guy.

This is the first time I think I’ve seen Michael kill in pure hatred. You could see it in his eyes…

One little thing I liked: When Michael “McBride” shifted to his American accent and Sean said something like, “You’ve got a bit of an accent.”

And wasn’t Maddy’s house blown up in a previous episode? Sam must be a heck of a worker to get it rebuilt so quickly

The was just the sun room, and it was a whole half season ago. Sam should get a cut of the profits if she ever does sell it.

“I dunno, your accent’s a bit dodgy.”

Yeah, it’s been a running gag.

Yes, that was nice.

Isn’t it supposed to be impossible to infiltrate the IRA because everyone knows everyone’s cousins?
